R.I.P. Republican Party

I think that with the rise of MTG and her Q-anon theories, backed by Jim Jordan and Matt Gaetz, and the demise of Liz Cheney for having the courage to vote for the impeachment and the upcoming acquittal of President Trump with at least 40 Republican Senators backing Trump's sedition....the Republican party is circling the toilet bowl.

The elected Republican leader in the Senate is trying to do what he can, but with the House minority leader sucking up to the leader of the domestic terrorists it doesn't look like the Republicans can make it.

The largest energizing force supporting the GOP today are folks who support the thinking of MTG and supported the rioting on January 6. That’s why McCarthy is reluctant to take away her committee assignments. Also since the election and the time he left office Trump raised over $100 million. GOP members fear the damage he can do with that kind of money. That’s why McConnell is afraid to criticize Trump but he did criticize MTG. As you say Kinzinger gets it but his political future is jeopardized by speaking out. The party will likely continue to shrink.

I've have the opportunity to meet Kinzinger several times as he has served bad a guest speaker in my classroom. He is an upcoming leader and he is smart enough to see that he needs to realign to maintain his future as a leader in the house or the senate. My hope is that he does not become corrupted by the lobbyists and alignment with big business but it seems that the li longer you serve, the more corrupt you become.

Looks like this lady is about to be removed from her committees so she will be gone soon anyway.

Now do all the dems who lied about the russia collusion hoax

I am all for immigrants coming to America but exactly what are we going to do with all of these children in these facilities? These are teenagers who cannot provide for themselves so who is responsible to provide for them? Oh that’s right, the American tax payers and the additional debt we will take on to give them the opportunity they came here for.

The US has limited immigration several times in our history and during that period Industrial Revolution era, people had to prove that they could work and that they would it be a detriment or a sponge to our society before they were allowed in, u ,ess of course you were Japanese or Chinese. People were expected to provide for themselves with little to no government assistance but that policy seems to have changed.

Not to mention the issues of COVID in these facilities, for those of you who are worried about that.

MTG on more than one occasion advocating killing prominent Democrat politicians. Most Republicans in the House don’t think that’s sufficient reason to kick that nut job off of committees. She’s still a member of Congress but her wings got clipped today. Republicans in congress know that a decent number of their base agree with MTG on her views including assassinations.

It will be tough to convict any one person for his murder. That won’t change the fact that he was murdered.
