Maybe he's just a product of the times and moved more toward the left just as others have moved more towards the right and created the divided world we have seen.

The whole Democratic party has moved left, but I would definitely not include Biden among the left wing of that party along with the likes of Harris, Warren, Booker, Klobuchar, Duckworth, Shumer, Leahy, The Squad, etc.

Interesting that Patrick Leahy, D-VT, has an ACU lifetime average rating of 4.66, while the other senator from Vermont, the self described independent democratic socialist Bernie Sanders, has an average score of 6.54.

Leahy has been in the Senate for 40 years and is now 80 years old. He will die in office unless we get some term limits passed.
Did anyone hear John Kasich on TV last night? He is a Republican and was blasting the 45 Republican Senators who oppose Impeaching Trump. He said that the Republican Party is on a trend in that it is shrinking and will continue to do so which is the same thing I said on here a week or so ago.

I would wager Senator Biden would scoff at the notion of giving illegal immigrants health care. EDIT- in fact, in 1996 Senator Biden voted in favor of expanding the detention and deportation of illegals. Today, he wants to give them all citizenship.

Presidential candidate Biden readily raised his hand in support of it. As did every other Democratic candidate.

I guess this would explain the increase in gas prices. Guess we will become more dependent on foreign oil.

When I went on my run yesterday and went by the Shell station I swear I saw 2.35 a gallon, about what it’s been for months.

John kerry, who somehow got a job in the biden admin, told laid off pipeline workers to get a job building solar panels. This is a clown show.

But we have seen those type of price fluctuations pretty regularly over the past 4 years. Biden has been President for a week.

If those pipeline workers are laid off they would be eligible for unemployment benefits until they find other work. There are jobs to be had building solar panels but they prefer experience.

Providing unemployment benefits does little to help our already struggling economy. The key to economic growth is production of goods and services.

If they continue to receive benefits, why would they bother looking for work?

If there are jobs to be had building solar panels, maybe the govt should provide some incentive to get people to enter that line of work. That would do more in building these facilities and decreasing our carbon footprint than just handing out unemployment.

The price of crude has been on the rise since Biden's election. Shortening supply isn't going to cut prices.

I agree that unemployment benefits are ust temporary. I hope we can get our unemployment rate down to 4% in about a year from now. We have to get thru this pandemic first. Our planet is getting warmer and we can’t keep kicking that issue down the road. Biden seems to understand that and is attempting solutions.

Well the damage is already done and we need to stop acting like we are the only country causing global warming. Until China is held to the same standard that we hold ourselves, we will continue to send our manufacturing to them and they will continue to do 2x the pollution and reap the economic benefits of no regulations.

I'm not saying we don't do anything but shutting down a pipeline and limiting drill on Federal lands will do little to slow global warming but will definitely hurt that 4% unemployment goal you are speaking of. This will hardly be the only sector where people will lose jobs because of these Executive Orders. Want to reverse the increase in carbon, plant more trees, they thrive on that stuff.

My guess, we will not see unemployment below 5 for several years. Well, we might if we keep handing out unemployment, more people will quit looking for work and those individuals are not included in the reported U4 unemployment rate, so I guess we see a number below 5%.

Stock market in a tizzy due to small time investors sticking it to the big hedge funds....and of course, it's all Trump's fault

CNN's Chris Cillizza panned for claiming 'Trumpism' is behind GameStop stock surge
https://www.foxnews.com/media/cnn-chris-cillizza-trumpism-gamestop

Now it's time to change the rules, Soros can't be losing money. Nobody cried foul when members of Congress sold off millions after coronavirus briefings.

Or the companies that need workers could provide an incentive.

I will certainly give him time to enact any of his initiatives. (Unlike how Trump was treated)

I need to wait until he actually comes out of hiding (Still have not seen him much in front of a press corp)

I look forward to his plan on helping fix the Serious Issues he campaigned on (CoVid, Poverty, Social Justice, BLM, De-Funding the Police, 2nd Ammend Antifa... Mental Health, Job Stability, Long Term Economic Growth, and UNITING THE COUNTRY)

From CNN
Facts First: Harris' voting record in the Senate is certainly one of the most liberal

In 2019, GovTrack, a non-partisan organization that tracks bills in Congress, ranked Harris as the "most liberal compared to All Senators." One measure the organization uses is comparing how many bipartisan bills each senator cosponsors to how many bills they co-sponsored in total. Harris had the lowest at 15% in 2019.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/08/14/kamala-harris-moderate-not-even-close-welcome-leftist-trojan-horse-operation/

From the above link: The left sees Biden as their Trojan horse. They want voters to look at his inoffensive, moderate, bipartisan exterior, and decide it is safe to let him inside the White House gates.

At the end of the Article: Once the election is over, Biden will move even further in their direction. Besides, progressives in Congress believe that they will be setting the agenda anyway, and Biden’s job will be to autopen whatever they pass and put on his desk. What is he going to do, stand with Republicans and veto their legislation? Progressives are more than comfortable spreading the myth of moderation, while they hide inside the belly of the Democratic ticket waiting for voters to open the White House gates.

What I have seen.
I am certainly disappointed at some of his Executive Orders. (Allowing biological Males to compete in Female activities)

The list is ever growing https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/bidens-executive-orders-notable-actions/story?id=75500311

What I have not seen or heard yet is Why B-H has not met with BLM leaders yet when they promised they would. (Maybe the Admin really doesn't care about one of the most pressing issues in America and just used them to get votes) Sign the petition: Tell Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to meet with Black Lives Matter

We shall see, but at first glance, he is looking really left and is still the same old do nothing liberal he has always been. However, I will reserve final judgement until later.

Biden didn't run on a "de-fund the police" platform, nor did he agree to meet with BLM leaders prior to the election. If he made such an agreement after the election I can't find evidence of that, but if that is the case then he will keep his promise.

https://www.blackenterprise.com/black-lives-matter-accuses-joe-biden-of-ignoring-their-meeting-requests/

He is serious about combating climate change and I think you will see that be a centerpiece of his administration after we have won the fight against COVID-19.

I don't think you will see a lot of Biden holding press briefings every time he walks out of the White House like Trump did. Many things will be different from the Trump administration.

He doesn't have the power to do any of the things he's said he's going to do, or said Trump should do. The American people expect, and Presidents do, all sorts of things that is far beyond their Constitutional powers. The founders would not recognize the office today compared to what they intended it to be.
