Well the Bears are finding out that Touchdowns, not Field Goals win games.

They are, however, going to back door their way into the playoffs.
A bizarre football year all around.

Exactly! Packers were 4-4 on TD's in the red zone. Bears kick 3 FG. When the Bears had that 15 play drive end on a failed 4th and 1 only trailing 21-16 I figured they were done. Why throw a pass there when you have Montgomery?

Re: Foles or Trubisky?
I guess my question is, what in Nagy's tenure led you to believe they wouldn't throw in that situation?OSUBucks wrote:Why throw a pass there when you have Montgomery?
You should probably be happy it wasn't a double reverse that ended with Patterson throwing a bubble to Jimmy Graham for a 10 yd loss.

Re: Foles or Trubisky?
Bears playcalling was atrocious today. Way too conservative. Looks like the Bears are going to stick with the Mitch-Pass-To-The-Flat-For-3-Yards game plan going forward.

Yeah they were throwing to the flat all day. The Packers did a good job on Robinson though, I think he only caught one pass all day.

Re: Foles or Trubisky?
Nagy loves to be ultra conservative when it's not necessary- the end of the Eagles playoff game as example #1- and wildly liberal when a conservative approach would be better suited- 4th and 1 today, the end of the Panthers game, etc, etc.19delta wrote:Bears playcalling was atrocious today. Playing not to lose rather than playing to win.
Some will say "hey, we are in the playoffs and anything can happen." I've seen enough of this team/regime to know that hurt getting to the playoffs every 3-4 years is good enough for them.

Nice job controlling the clock and the ball today but gotta Cash in once you get in the red zone. Some pretty bad breakdowns defensively as well. I dont think you can band aid a few spots and contend I think a pretty big haul over is needed.

The Saints are so hit and miss they could actually pull that game out.dusty7 wrote:19delta wrote:Bears playcalling was atrocious today. Way too conservative. Looks like the Bears are going to stick with the Mitch-Pass-To-The-Flat-For-3-Yards game plan going forward.

The Bears didn't make the playoffs, they got in the playoffs.
If the game was played on Sat the Saints would be without Kamara. However, I do not see the Bears defense being able to stop the Saints offense.

Re: Foles or Trubisky?
The Bears and Saints already played this year didn't they?
It was an OT win by the Saints. A three point game.
No Kamara? 9.5 point spread?
I'll take the Bears.

Looks like Kamara will be playing - https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/tennessee-football/alvin-kamara-new-orleans-saints-playoffs-2020-2021/#:~:text=The%20New%20Orleans%2DChicago%20playoff,a%20Jan.%209%20playoff%20game.
What's the status of Smith and Mooney?
I think this will be a fairly close game but I am not sold on a Bears victory quite yet.

Re: Foles or Trubisky?
You guys need to factor in the 9.5 points the Saints are favored by.
I don’t think the Bears win either, but I’ll bet on them + 9.5 points.

Depending on the injury situation with Mooney and Smith and if Kamara plays, I don't think it will be that close. As long as no mouthpieces get harmed during the game, I will be happy!

Re: Foles or Trubisky?
ok, so i just came from visiting a friend's house whose mother was murdered in virginia yesterday(yes, we had a double murder yesterday afternoon, and yes, i knew all 3 involved). i was listening to nfl network's movie' the chains. kerwin was asked by miller if he thought trubisky would be back. kerwin said 'no' and said he thought robinson would be gone too.
thoughts?
also, what do you bears fans think about graham running into the tunnel after scoring at the end of the game? i thought it was pretty classless.
i don't follow the bears other than what's said on here, so i wanted to hear your opinions.
not trying to start anything here, just keeping actual football talk alive.

Re: Foles or Trubisky?
The game was over at that point but I would have come back out just to offer congratulations and good luck to the Saints. Graham apparently was having none of that. He made a hell of a catch on that TD though. He’s not the player he was with the Saints years ago, primarily a red zone threat. I heard them talking earlier that Graham was nominated for NFL man of the year, I was a little surprised by that.

Jimmy Graham is ass hat. See my previous post about him and the Colts game. I think the fact he's the Bears nominee for the Payton award says a lot about the state of the Bears' organization currently.OSUBucks wrote:The game was over at that point but I would have come back out just to offer congratulations and good luck to the Saints. “Nothing against the Packers, I had a great season with them last year, going to the playoffs. But this team, all they care about is winning, all they care about is that Superbowl. That is the complete focus here” Bears TE Jimmy Graham

Remember when Chris Long left the Patriots and went to the Eagles and complained that the Pats only cared about winning and the Eagles were the new blueprint for a modern dynasty?Ghengis Khan wrote:Head Idiot wrote:Jimmy Graham is ass hat. Re: Foles or Trubisky?
No problem with Jimmy G running through the tunnel especially since there was no EP. Final NFL play, final NFL Touchdown in the Building it all started. Run to retirement Jimmy.
Congrats to the Bears on bringing back the circus.

Hearing that Pagano is retiring. He had a good run in the league. Hope the Bears find a good replacement.
