So far they're 0-2 with a Left and a guy that once coached at Quitman HS.

Something about that is really funny to me...

to be honest, it's 0-3, but i can't say what i know. sorry.

Pothole in the road emerges as the Durand school board rejected the team colors and mascot that was selected by students from both schools.

I wonder what the Mascot was? Sometimes letting the students select can be a little dicey. See Polo HS. Laughing

The Marcos? That's a GREAT mascot!

Du-Pec co-op colors were going to be royal blue (for Durand) and Vegas gold (for Pec). I believe the Du-Pec co-op mascot was going to be the "Rivermen", the idea being that the Pecatonica River has to be crossed for the co-op to exist. Admittedly, pretty lame. But, kids from both schools came up with it and the Pecatonica BOE voted for both the mascot and school colors unanimously. IMO, it's bad form for the Durand BOE to reject both what kids from both schools and the Pecatonica BOE approved.

Basically, it's a really stupid thing to make a big deal about. Given all the things that could derail a co-op, this one is pretty ridiculous.
We're going into year 6 of our coop here and every year we have a small group in our coop school who lose their crap that there isn't purple in our color system somehow.

Navy blue, orange, purple and white.  Classy.

Yeah. Your kids always looked sharp. Really good-looking uniforms.

If they let the old coach go(for anything that was not egregious) they are kinda getting what they deserved. I bet the old coach is laughing now.

Is Dudich set to retire after this upcoming year?

That's the only way this makes any amount of sense.

EDIT- Nevermind, I thought Guilford was a private school for some stupid reason.

I agree with you there.  Stupid to put that out there in an article when it was not verified.  I doubt that we will see it but there should be a correction written.

Diduch is a pretty young guy...maybe early 40s? He does not have any Rockford connections that I know of. I think he is originally from the north suburbs.

I just have to wonder how his name got rolled up in this. How does that happen?

I didn't think he was too old and I didn't really understand the move unless he was retiring from teaching and taking a private job, but as I said, Guilford isn't a private.

It's really weird that they so definitively linked him to the job in the article.
