CGB has made their choice. I think it gets approved tonight at the board meeting. When and if it does, I'll share then.

From Coach Letts facebook page
I would like to first thank all of you for the birthday wishes. Always means a lot from those you love and care about. I am using this forum to let all of you know I made a decision today to give up the Lanphier Head Coach job only 1 week into the challenge. Sometimes in life the challenge is greater than the emotional gas tank has gas and this was definitely a job that needs an "all in" coach. I know my family is disappointed in my decision, but know their love for me will overcome any disappointment or embarrassment they may feel at the moment. This was hard for me to do, but I have a peace about my decision and believe in my heart it was in the best interests of the football athletes at Lanphier so the Lanphier Administration can quickly return to a still fresh candidate's pool. I wish the Lanphier Lion players and new coaching staff the very best in their quest to return to a more competitive program this upcoming season!

I think it was probably "sticker shock".
It sounded like a good idea until he got there and realized coaching has changed a lot since 1994. The investment for success has just changed that much. At least that's my impression from reading between the lines of his FB post.

Evidently the first meeting with the players didn't go well...Bighitter11 wrote:From Coach Letts facebook page

Who knows?
I certainly don't hold it against him as I fully understand the time commitments necessary to turn something like that around. Like someone said though, I just don't know what happened in the past week to change his mind.

I think he had a boy that played for DL at Rochester. My guess was that he was going to duplicate that system.

i gave you the negative because he should've pulled his name from contention. the ad is a friend of mine and he shared the laborious process that lhs went through to get their guy. now it starts all over for the 3rd time.
two of the leading candidates had already withdrawn before the final selection. lett could've done the same.
sorry hp. jmho.

Re: 2016-17 Head Football Coaching Openings
I don't disagree with you. It's a crappy thing to do on his part. What I was saying by saying I don't hold it against him, is I don't hold it against him that he decided the time commitment was too much. I can't say I disagree with him. His timing, as you said, could not have been worse.net wrote:Head Idiot wrote:Who knows?
