Tremont will be open after this week.  Coach Wicks stepping down after 20 years with the Turks

I see this being a busy offseason.

Crystal Lake South - there was an article in a suburban paper linked on IHSS

I normally get one or two PMs an offseason asking about certain Iowa jobs, so I may post ones local to me in this thead:

West Burlington will be open as their HC has already resigned. Generally speaking, they are normally a very athletic but somewhat undersized team.

there will be a district 186 opening soon. it hasn't been announced yet.

Opening coming in the corn belt, also has not been announced.

Tough gig in Urbana. They did not field both underclass teams this year and I just don't thing they can have long term success in the Big 12. They have had some ok years, but nothing sustainable. But Honestly, in HS ball there is always a door mat and a King in every conference. It is rare to see the a team go from the bottom to the top and vice versa. The bad are just always bad. A couple of exceptions are Peoria High and Rockford Auburn.

What is "TFC"?

He seemed to have them going in the right direction.

Typical \"f\"ing Clinton. A phrase coined by former Okaw foes to describe how that town and school district absolutely refuses to get out of their own way. Among other things.

A former coach of mine at Clinton once said Clinton will never win a state championship in any sport because the community doesn't want success. I thought that was just some musings of an outsider that had no truth behind it, but after coaching against Clinton and going back there after having been away, it is a 100% accurate statement.

Edgy Tim has word that Hoffman Estates and Conant, Fox Lake Grant, Chicago Morgan Park, Chicago Westinghouse, Crystal Lake South are also open. On IHSS, Gillespie is open along with River Grove Guerin, and Springfield Lanphier.

I'm surprised Guerin is open. I was under the assumption that the interm HC was taking over again on a permanent basis. He had inquired about me returning to the program as an assistant, but I respectfully turned him down. Tough job for anyone that thinks about applying for it.
