Chris Duerr tweeted that Bowling Green "doesn't lack for returning athletic talent", and a "significant pay boost, more long range stability w/retirement/pension, and a chance to play his mentor, Kevin Miles".

I don't know what Kreit's experience/education level is, but the pay scale isn't "Significant", at least comparable to most schools in WC IL - I would think. To each their own. He's done a great job at Unity.

Seeing that pay scale makes me feel very fortunate I'm in the situation I'm currently in...

my experience with looking at salaries in west central illinois small schools is deplorable.  

HOF people out there are making in the low 40s.

Not the LOVC opening I was talking about, but congrats to Coach Zehr. Good guy.

Hearing rumblings of an opening in the Southwest Prairie... not confirmed yet, though.

Plainfield East and Minooka open in the Suburban Prairie.

Odd that neither school has posted anything about accepting HFC applications yet.

I will say that whoever gets hired will have their work cut out the next two years. They are going to struggle. But there are good numbers and talent in the junior high. If they hire someone who can keep those kids interested, get them in the weight room, keep them hungry, etc, etc, they could be competitive by 2019 and pretty good by 2020.

Pecatonica also has great facilities...possibly the best in the conference after Eastland. It's a diamond in the rough for the right coach.

I don't know yet. As of right now, the plan is to take a year off and reevaluate next November, but, we'll see. I honestly don't know if you'll ever see me as a HC again, or even on a sideline. I'm pretty non-committed to anything right now. It's kind of nice.

You have done a nice job with Cerro Gordo especially with the coop transition with Bement.

I would be lying however if I didn't admit that attempting to hold together two entities that truly dislike one another didn't factor a little into my decision.  I've grown tired of being caught in the middle of the proxy war.

I've always thought a consolidated school with Bement, Cerro Gordo, Atwood, and Arthur-Lovington would benefit all the communities and especially the sports program.

You know what the hardest animal to kill is?
