Re: gas prices
Last weekend gas price spiked, prolly more due to Labor Day than Harvey. Walmart actually ran out of gas for a while after the Harvey news. I suggested to Mrs BW that we hold off on filling the diesel trucks, since there was a 'false panic' going on. Down near the interstate diesel was $2.79 (high) but at Walmart same day in Jamestown was $2.32 (low).

$2.16-2.19 in Tuscalossa, Alabama and on a homecoming weekend too. When driving back from O'Hare tonight it was $2.39 at the Loves in Williamsville.

My wife and I left Springfield to catch a flight out of Lambert to Austin, Texas Friday. Gas in Springfield was $2.59. We filled up our rental in Round Rock, Texas before we returned it on Saturday, $2.08.

Re: gas prices
Diesel in Jamestown TN is $2.69. We're an hour from I-75 (east) or I-40 (south), where the price of diesel goes over $3.00....

Re: gas prices
Somewhat related here.
Recently one of the stations in town started selling 85 octane. NOT E85. Same price as the other stations in town (I think it was 2.59 at the time) Well, they apparently did not change the big signs and only the small signs on the pumps changed. Many folks in town did not notice right away and were pumping 85 into their cars.
Couple of days later, my kid tells me his car is not running right. Took a couple of min to figure out what fuel he has been putting in there. Apparently 1996 Honda Civics with 120K miles do not like 85 octane.
Funny thing is that both stations are selling their lowest grade for the same price.
