gas prices

radio this morning said prices ranged from 2.53-.79 in the patch.

I saw $2.07 for gas and $2.41 diesel here in Texas this week....

$2.57 at a couple places in Sterling. $2.33 at a couple other places 2 miles away

after dropping down to $1.89 a few weeks ago, gas in sterling is $2.19 today

springfield ranged from 1.95-2.09 on monday.

prices held at 1.99 everywhere from springfield, pleasant plains, virgina and jacksonville for almost 10 days.

Our gas is typically a few cents cheaper than anywhere around us for some reason, and we are back up over $2.00 most places in town.

$1.99 in Keokuk, IA, unless it's gone up again today. But, we never came close to as cheap as many other places in Iowa had it. We were at $1.69 and towns as close as 20 miles were all the way down to $1.25 at that same time.

That's a long way to drive to save 30 cents a gallon.

I was going to a track meet. Next year it will not be as far to save 30 cents. Fayetteville, Arkansas is 3 hours closer.

Today Thorntons was $1.94 with discount $1.91

Decatur area has been around $2.25 for about a month and a half. Maybe longer. I only drive 6 miles round trip to get to work, so a tank of gas lasts me about 2 months so I don't pay super close attention.

Diesel $2.03 in TN/KY border area. Regular gas less than that...

Just over $3.00 in Kankakee area, I think I paid $3.18 last week.  I really don't pay too much attention.

Back in 2008, I lived through a gas shortage in North Carolina when the Colonial Pipeline was shut down due to a few Hurricanes. Most stations were quick to put limits on how much you could pump so that helped it a little bit but about 1 week later it was fine.

Today's average for the US is $3.08, up .24 from a month ago, and .08 from a week ago.

got my gas monday in the patch for 3.09. w/ my discount it was 2.99.
