Re: IHSA Winter Sports
Seems to be gaining some momentum in the last 48 hours. IHSA contacts Governors office requesting control in directing sports.

It will be very interesting to see what happens hear. I wonder if it is too little too late or of the movement will actually work. I am cautiously optimistic because the perception is that it's a political moved based on the limited spread because of football on other states this far.

I think you hit the nail on the head coach...perception. States playing right now, at least to my knowledge and I could be wrong, haven’t had any real major issues. I think Gov office is going to realize that he’s losing a ton of support not at least trying. Is it crazy to say we’d play week one first Friday in October, play 6 game reg season with playoffs finishing in December? Basketball starts games first week of January. Baseball then starts a month earlier.

Heck, play the championship games at Saluki stadium. Warmer better weather for December.

I agree with all that you said. Bump everything back a few weeks and play title games and maybe even semis down south. SIU, DuQuoin, or any other turf or high quality grass fields. I'm sure the northern guys won't like it but this is a unique year.

Re: IHSA Winter Sports
The only problem I heard with Iowa is with the Iowa City, Des Moines, and Ames schools got their activities closed down.
They started school this week and are full remote. The edict from the governor was remote schools would not be allowed extracurriculars. Since this was the beginning of their school year the pause happened. It was not due to COVID cases.

i personally have never attended a rally ever. i'm going next saturday though.
Thanks for posting this net, I hadn't heard this. Hopefully if other states continue to play safely the Governor will reconsider. I want to see our team play. As you know we have some dudes this year.
