I know for sure you'll be there for Coach Dixon's presentation on speed stuff.

No? How about Byron's coach's presentation on how to keep it fun for kids?

No? What about Naz' coach's presentation on how to get dad's to dress up as refs and help you win playoff games?

All good clinics topics although I don't want to see any of the Byron coach"s video or pictures...

First two- actual topics.

3rd- my bad attempt at humor I guess.

No...#3 was good. I thought #2 was a joke, as well. I was thinking about Oreos.

I have a recent presentation that Dixon gave. It is good and there are lots of great ideas. What I like about the "minimum effective dosage" concept is that it is pretty much the anti-Crossfit.

With that being said, I do have to wonder if maybe the pendulum is swinging too far, though. Some of those MED guys...their attitude seems like if your kids are breathing hard or actually break a sweat in the weight room, you are basically committing child abuse. And, while I do think speed is important, I have never once walked away from a loss saying, "man...those guys were just too fast for us" but I HAVE walked away from a loss saying, "man...those guys were big and strong and just kicked our butts!"

I probably am not intelligent to understand it, but idk how it's anything more than just don't work them too hard so you get lots of talent. At least that seemed to be the genesis of it from Holler's own website. Idk that I could get behind anything that is intentionally lazy so you can keep lazy kids.

Again. I'm probably wrong and I apologize greatly for the off topicness.

And, I agree with you. When we had the horses to compete with the best, I never felt we got out speeded. Turnovers were usually our downfall. Including to Camp Point in 2012. My best example of why I thought our lifting program of heavy and often worked was a WR for us that as a Jr squatted 350+ and broke the school record in the 100 and went to state. Sr year, he quit lifting heavy after football and never got .2 close to his record and finished like 5th in sectionals.
