Sheesh. Not sure why that one took so long to hit the news.

.......or at least this version of the story, which I am glad is what came out and I hope what is true. What I heard was pretty different, but would not change the fact that Coach Hess is a good guy and coach.

I have long kind of wondered if there wasn't a strained relationship after the whole suspension thing in 14. That seemed like a really bad deal that could have caused a lot of major dysfunction between program and school. Coach Hess has always been a very nice guy in my limited dealings with him.

Disclaimer- I have no idea what happened, nor do I really care. Just seems like an all around weird situation and given my having been in some weird situations, that was my deduction.

Saw that Rock Falls now has an opening for a head coach and 2 asst coaches

Yes Goody was and hopes to be in the future. We have plenty of great canidates already on staff who are much better than me. I would anticipate our next coach will be somebody internally

That would certainly be one of the Better ships the Ole Pirate would of jumped aboard. He has attempted some tough fixes

I would add that it was pretty classy of him to step aside now. Next year, EPC should be pretty good. It would have been very easy for him to come back for another year after struggling the past two years. As it stands now, whomever the next HC will be is coming into a pretty good situation. EPC will have a talented senior class. Many of those kids have been starters since their sophomore year. Excepting Lena, most of the rest of the conference will be rebuilding. So, I think it is a pretty attractive job. He definitely is leaving the program on solid footing.

The EPC HC position will not be posted until February or March. Word is that both schools want to see if any teaching positions will become available.

Sandwich open. Coach Van Dyke resigned. Been a tough few years but they have the talent to do well. Will definitely be a tough job with a new conference after next season.

they started playing quincy hs and losing to them and economy in the quincy area isn't the best. jmo.

I know it's been mentioned before that almost all Catholic/private schools are losing enrollment, but it seems to have hit QND harder than others even. I'm not sure what the numbers are now compared to say 5 or 10 years ago, though.
