Well if the Rumors are true of his old school Milford not fielding a Varsity team next fall due to low numbers they could pick up 7 Games with the VVC schools and probably find a week 1 and 2 Non Conference game somewhere.

Re: 2016-17 Head Football Coaching Openings
CHAMPAIGN — Champaign Central football coach Nate Albaugh will step down after this season.
Albaugh, who has compiled a 26-21 record as Central's coach entering Friday night's game against Peoria Sally N D at Tommy Stewart Field, listed the stress level of the position, his three children — the oldest of whom will be in high school next year — and the opportunity to grow professionally as an assistant coach as reasons for his decision.
"I've been able to tell over the last couple of years the level of stress that I'm under during the season is high and I don't feel well during the season," said Albaugh, who has an overall record of 51-43 after previously coaching at Milford/Cissna Park and Alton. "Not that I'm unhealthy. I'm healthy, but I can tell that I don't feel well during the season. ... At the forefront of my mind is trying to give my family back a pretty sane guy that is even-keeled all the time rather than someone who bounces around based on how his team played that week."
Makes perfect sense.
And there are at least 5 teams on ihsa.org right now that they could schedule in the 1A-3A range.

Nate acknowledged the conflict in a follow up story. Honestly, I don't think he really is cut out to be an assistant. This is a perfect situation for him - get out of the Champaign school district without getting out of Champaign.

I never believed he would go be an assistant somewhere. A guy with that much HC experience? No way.OldTitan wrote:SIFBCoach7 wrote:CHAMPAIGN — Champaign Central football coach Nate Albaugh will step down after this season.

Rumor has it ANOTHER good Big 12 job is going to open up due to the coach moving in to administration. I only have one source on this one though, whereas the other one is pretty widely known, it just hasn't hit the news for some reason.

I will say it’s been relatively quiet so far in the Decatur/Chambana/BN/Springfield area I think.

Two promotions from within at Rochelle to fill Kevin Crandall's position at last night's board meeting. Kyle Kissack hired for head football coach, Rich Harvey as athletic director.
