Re: fat man challenge
Weighed 249 Saturday morning before my run. 246 after. 250 this morning before running.
Lifting has stalled- still squatting 375/385 for my last set and benching 305 last one. That should pick up after football hopefully.
Have went from pushing the limits of 46 pants in 2013 to pretty comfortably wearing 40s now. Currently wearing an XL polo shirt. Life is good from a fitness standpoint.

Good work!
I seem to be hovering between 221-224 most of the time. Football season is always a drag for me, because I consume way too much Coke (cola) and caffeine. I am still running 10-15 miles a week, but my diet kills any weight loss goals.
Still would like to get to 200 again.

Thanks. I don't think I'll ever see, or really want to see 200 again.SIFBCoach7 wrote:Head Bronco wrote:Weighed 249 Saturday morning before my run. 246 after. 250 this morning before running.

I think, I'm really about where I want to be. If I could get rid of the little bit of belly roll I still have, I'd be about as happy as I could be.

Re: fat man challenge
i haven't weighed in over a month. wife bought me some redskins xxxl shirts for my birthday. they are baggy as the majority of my countless redskins shirts are.
teachers commenting to me about my 'skinny' face.
i'm wearing my cg broncos shirt to school the week of the arcola game. i'm hoping that shirt will be baggy too. yes hp, you owe me a positive rep point.
so i'll go weigh next week.
fitbit kicks arse!

I knew it was a bad idea for them to put the unlimited food clause into his contract.

Part of me is disappointed I've stayed around the 280 mark this season, but it is the first football season I haven't gained significant weight, so that's progress I guess.

I will be starting an ADVOCARE 24-Day challenge Monday to help jumpstart my weight loss again. It is a great program and the products really work and aren't all geared towards weight loss. If anyone wants to know more, just let me know, because I'm really exploring getting into the business side of ADVOCARE as well! Thanks!

Re: fat man challenge
Haven't checked in in a while.
245 last Saturday after running. 248 before. Flu knocked the crap out of me that Mon and Tues of the playoff week and I only ate 950 calories on Monday. Back at lifting and running this week and weighed 249 after running this morning. Things are going well.
Would like to lose another 10, but the right kind of 10. Don't want to lose any muscle.

ging wrote:I haven't checked in here in awhile because my weight has been very constant for the past 10 years. to recap, I lost about 25 pounds or so in 2005, going from 235 to 210. I gave up regular pop and started eating a little better and kept my regular exercise routine. that worked wonders for me.
my weight has stayed in the 210-215 range for the last 10 years, but in January of this year I got up to 220. so, I cut back on sugar. I got down to 215 but would sometimes check in at 218. so, I cut back even more on sugar. again, I've kept the same exercise routine and diet.
then, on august 1st, I gave up drinking diet pop completely. figured I didn't need the caffeine like I thought I did. and I was right...I don't miss it. BUT, I weighed myself the other day and I was back at 220! what the hell?
I realize that I'm 47 now and I guess it's easier to lose weight when you're 37 than 47, but it sucks to make positive changes in your diet and not see any benefit from it (from a weight standpoint).
happy to report that I weighed in at 214 this morning. I have continued to stay off caffeine and limit my sugar intake. but what seems to have made a difference is that I am exercising more since the start of October. whereas before I was averaging 2 to 2.5 hours of cardio per week (30 min per day X 4 or 5 days), I am now averaging twice that. 30 min on the exercise bike in the morning and 30 min on the treadmill in the evening. seems to be working.

Re: fat man challenge
One big thing is I think I've FINALLY kicked soda. I've had one 20 oz bottle and one can since our season ended Oct 23rd...and I was normally drinking anywhere between 2-4 cans a day plus an occasional 20 oz bottle mixed in there too.

I never thought this was a problem for me. I drank exclusively Diet Coke & Dt Dew for decades.... but since retiring and NEVER seeing a vending machine anymore, I've pretty much stopped drinking soda. Unless I run out of beer, in which case I switch to Diet Dr Pepper & Southern Comfort (Mrs BW's cocktail of choice).
BTW, still fat. Not running, too much drinking, too many socials.

Re: fat man challenge
254 the morning before Thanksgiving. 252 on Monday. Have pretty much returned to prevent flu weight. Squatted 385 my last set today and benched 315. Both 5 reps each. Have went up in nearly every lift I do. Hopefully tomorrow won't be too disastrous.

Re: fat man challenge
255 this morning. Ballooned after Thanksgiving to weighing 258ish in the mornings, but have worked most of it off.
Squatted 400lbs the last 5 reps of my workout Monday without racking the weight once between reps. Have been taking some pre-workout stuff for about a week and it has really helped up some of the weights I had been stuck on for a couple months. Front squatted 300lbs Sunday. Inclined 255 Monday for the last set of 5.

Re: fat man challenge
Started the school year at 276 and went up to 280ish during football season. Slowly but surely am back down to 274. Almost a year ago (December 20th) I was all the way back up to 330, so I'm pretty happy overall. Was hoping for 265 by the end of the calendar year, but I haven't made any progress the last couple weeks.

Re: fat man challenge
I was really frustrated to be up 4 lbs since the end of football (from 251 most mornings to 255) until I realized, this is usually the time of year I'd gain 20lbs for most of my life. I think if you can tread water until Dec 26th, you've got to look at that as a win.wolverine55 wrote:Started the school year at 276 and went up to 280ish during football season. That's the way I'm looking at it too. Last year at this time, I gained 26 pounds in the three and a half weeks we had between the start of Thanksgiving break and the start of Christmas break.
