Man, really let myself go there for awhile. Came back from a Michigan wedding, topped out at 214 lbs on Monday. Hit it hard this week, started back walking, serious diet. Two days running a Ditch Witch walk-behind trencher and I'm down to 200. Ah, the first 14 are always the easiest.

P.S. Gave up beer Mad and bread.

256 this morning on the first day of practice. Vacation was too good to me.

Goal this year is to maintain muscle mass and strength and lose maybe 10 lbs. To be able to see 230 something would be unreal.

I will start the school year at 276 or so, depending on what I weigh in at tomorrow morning. Did not accomplish my goal as I was hoping for 265 to start the school year. Illinois College Homecoming is fairly early this year--end of Sept.--so I've adjusted my goal to be 265 by then.

I normally struggle with my diet during the school year and football season specifically, but I think I've cleaned up my eating habits enough and am just overall motivated enough to where that won't be an issue this time around.

I haven't checked in here in awhile because my weight has been very constant for the past 10 years. to recap, I lost about 25 pounds or so in 2005, going from 235 to 210. I gave up regular pop and started eating a little better and kept my regular exercise routine. that worked wonders for me.

my weight has stayed in the 210-215 range for the last 10 years, but in January of this year I got up to 220. so, I cut back on sugar. I got down to 215 but would sometimes check in at 218. so, I cut back even more on sugar. again, I've kept the same exercise routine and diet.

then, on august 1st, I gave up drinking diet pop completely. figured I didn't need the caffeine like I thought I did. and I was right...I don't miss it. BUT, I weighed myself the other day and I was back at 220! what the hell?

I realize that I'm 47 now and I guess it's easier to lose weight when you're 37 than 47, but it sucks to make positive changes in your diet and not see any benefit from it (from a weight standpoint).

Diet pop won't do anything to make you gain or lose weight. There's no calories in it. I would imagine you have probably started eating more stuff here and there to supplement your body's desire for sugary taste left by diet pop.

I commend everyone on this thread. I won't say what I weigh because you're going to want to kick the crap out of me. My goal is to actually gain weight (muscle), but I haven't worked very hard at it yet. Every time I want to hit the weights, I just end up going fishing Laughing

lost 19.5lbs since last week of may. with my 24th anniversary, ctbftr's wedding and an endless desire for wings in the latter part of july; that has been my slow down for the goal of 25lbs of weight loss for summer.

fitbit has been a blessing for me. it really challenges me to get my 12k steps daily. i missed only 2 days in july of achieving my goal. both of those days were in direct correlation to my trip down to dalton, ga.

Just wait until this winter on snow days or Sundays when you find yourself walking around your house at 11pm to get your steps.

First day of school I weighed in at the heaviest I've ever been. Really feeling it in my knees. So, going to get to work on getting some weight off. Started tracking everything I eat with MyFitnessPal, trying to make smarter food choices for breakfast & lunch... I'm a fast food junkie. Going to try to stay out of the drive-thrus. Should also save me money. Going to keep my caloric intake around 2250 a day. Down 2.5 pounds so far. Would like to drop about 77.5 more.

I also need to get more active. Probably need to invest in something like a fitbit to see just how sedentary I am.

Snow days are tough. I would walk up and down my staircase and around my house for 20 minute increments in the past. Now I have moved to the town I teach in, I'm only a few blocks from the YMCA and school, so I should be able to get to either even when we have a snow day.

Shoveling my driveway is always a nice 2-3 hour long adventure, but the steps don't really pile up like you'd think they would. I've found if I shuffle they don't always get counted.

I try to avoid using that as much as possible? Why? I don't know. Seems like cheating sometimes. I think I've only added stuff 3 or 4 times that way.

Not much progress. Still 251 after my run this morning. 253 before. Still lifting the same weights though, so without a heck of a lot of time to lift, I'll take it.

Have shingles right now, so that's awesome.

Life is good.

I'm a little disappointed in that I'm staying pretty much the same with my weight, but most school years I've already gained a little bit by this point, so that's improvement I guess

Dammit - I'm back in the Fat Man category after doing well for a long time. I've been traveling a lot for work - lot's a comped meals.

My recently (last winter) tailored suits don't fit and I'm in one of my "fat" suits today.

Tooooooo much drinking recently - a bad habit. When the girls are not at my house, it's easy to do. I get bored sitting home alone. So I cook, drink and eat.

Starting tonight, when I get home, I'll fill a water bottle and keep refilling it. That said, I am going to eat the left over ribs I smoked during the games yesterday (see above about being bored, cooking, drinking and eating.) I just hate to waste food.
