Upon further review of my last post in January on my weight loss- I'm just an excuse filled pussy.

I have decided I'm just going to man up and lose some damn weight. Screw tired or days off or whatever. Time for me to stop being a fat ass again.

I started Crossfit this week.

I have been skeptical and it is WAY out of my comfort zone, but I have really enjoyed the sessions I have done so far this week and there is enough of the stuff I really enjoy (weightlifting and powerlifting) to make it worthwhile.

Thought I'd provide an update. I'm at 296 right now, so I'm +3 from my last update. Was 298 last night. I'm not panicking, because I think I'm on to something here. There have been a couple of "stops" along the way. I'm taking a "three steps forward, one step back" approach, as opposed to multiple steps forward. My hope is, down the line, I won't have to take these breaks every so often. However, I have never undergone a weight-loss plan such as this before, and I wanted to find a way that would work best for me and the schedule I work under.

I targeted the date of yesterday for recommital, and I made sure I didn't have anything else to do that day. That way, I could concentrate fully on the plan.

So far I'm still doing the same old stuff. The same old stuff has made me 45-50 pounds lighter, and I'd like to continue doing the same old stuff until it no longer works. I told myself if, for some reason, I went back over 300 I'd go back to the drawing board. I haven't had to go back to it yet, and my gym time last night felt real good to boost my confidence.

I have a softball friend of mine that told me about making sure I built muscle along the way. I'm thinking about getting a start on that once I reach about 280-285. I prefer easing my way into such things. The same friend is also big on this Body by Vi stuff. I'm considering waiting until my own method fails before thinking about it.

I'm off to the gym for another session now.

I don't know squat about Body by Vi, but adding muscle is a guaranteed way to ACCELERATE your weight loss. Muscle burns calories just sitting there..much moreso than the fat it replaces. Lifting -- any regimen -- increases your metabolism. Don't wait for your current system to "fail." Help it along by adding weights. You won't be sorry.

I'm finally heading in the right direction and have made some significant strides in the few weeks since my above post.  Will post a new weight at the end of the month.

I have been doing better.  One of the reasons I hadn't been posting much in this thread and putting an "ish" after a couple of my posts is I lost total focus and had swung 10-15 pounds in the wrong direction up to 270-75.  I've been doing much better lately and have been weighing in the mid-250s the past week or so.  This only puts me down 10 pounds on the calendar year as I was 265 on New Year's Day, but down 80 pounds since my all time high of 335 in February of 2011.

Was 195 yesterday, after a 4 mile run. First run I've done in a quite a while.

Joined the volunteer fire department, and realized that I'm gonna hafta train if I wanna be in shape for wearing all that gear. Mrs BW put on my turnout gear and Scott air pack and about fell over from the weight. Laughing
