They changed the rule a few years ago that you could play up to 4 games and still redshirt. The NCAA granted everyone this year an extra year so his timeline looks like this
2017 - Freshman
2018 - Sophomore
2019 - Redshirt Soph Played 4 games
2020 - Super Soph (Covid)
2021 - Junior
2022 - Senior

That guy sounds a lot like Trump. I remember earlier in his administration he enjoyed insulting women for their appearance. Stacy Abrams is largely responsible for the Democrats winning those two seats, she is a major player in Democratic politics.

It's official! Harbaugh has gotten his extension from TTUN. Believed to be a 5 year deal.

blake texted me yesterday that at the time he's on the fg/pat team. he'll be wearing #62.
it's crazy. he went from a 2 win team's practice squad to actually playing on an 11 win team in the playoffs.

I have confirmed that 2 starting DLinemen are out for OSU tonight, one DT and one DE. Both are due to Big 10 COVID protocols. If they played in the SEC they would be able to play.

At this point, why doesn't OSU just play them?OSUBucks wrote:I have confirmed that 2 starting DLinemen are out for OSU tonight, one DT and one DE. Both are due to Big 10 COVID protocols. If they played in the SEC they would be able to play.
My thoughts on tonight? Bama by 20.

Starting to get the feeling this game is going to get out of hand early in the 3rd.

I do not understand the current math/mindset of modern football. OSU down 21-17 to Bama. Bama scores a TD. Kirk Herbstreit- "It may be good that Bama scored there. Now OSU has a chance to get a drive themselves."
A chance to drive for what? To get within 4 points again?

Re: Big10 Football
Possibly the best I’ve yet seen on the college level. No weaknesses on the offensive side of the ball. Saban GOAT IMO.

Certainly the GOAT of recruiting - which, of course, is the name of the game in CFB.

They lose the best WR on the team and they don't miss a beat. There is no question that he is the GOAT. The big question is, how do the others catch up? Having 3 or 4 dominant teams is starting to turn people off and in my opinion is not good for the game.

I've always been a big college football fan...but this right here is spot on...there is just no parity in the sport right now and the way it's setting up, won't be for a long time. When you watch random games during the season now, you're basically watching teams play to try to get to some dinky bowl game. There's gotta be a way to make it more competitive across the board.

CFB playoff? Blah.... Same 4/5 teams in the playoffs every year. Jimmys and Joes beat Xs and Os typically. At least IMHO - I realize many of you are coaches. Perfect storm somebody beats Bama but they win that game 9/10 times v virtually anyone past or present.

Re: Big10 Football
There's never been parity. For 50 years there's only been about a dozen programs that could win a national title. Now that you herd the top 4 together, you're just going to keep getting the same top programs out of the top conferences.
This new system supposedly opened it up to let little guys have a chance, but as this season showed with Coastal Carolina and Cincinnati, it's actually made it less likely they get a shot at it.

A year here or a year there this might happen. Some people think that expanding the playoffs will fix the issue but then it will just become the same 6 or 8 teams every season. Like everything, money plays a huge role. The good teams have more money than the bad teams, and it's just the way it is.

Re: Big10 Football
Problem is everyone wants instant results today in College Football. Coaches are let go before they even get a full recruiting cycle to go through. You want more parity give the coaches a little more time to provide Stability to a program

This is what I hope the approach is for Illinois. They entire program needs to be rebuilt from the ground up and it begins with recruiting. I'm not saying you have to get every elite Illinois play to Champaign, but by doing so, you will gain some additional fans and support for those who have an interest in following those players. Bielema has a tough row to hoe rebuilding the Illini and I hope he and the administration understand that this will be a 5-7 year process to get to being a respectable program. Immediate success is very rare and usually short lived.

The flip side is true too though. Let's say the stars align and the football gods smile down on Champaign and Illinois goes 4-8, 5-7, 8-4, 9-3 the next 4 years. What school is Bielema coaching at in year 5...... I don't mean that as a shot at Bielema, you can insert any non-powerhouse school here. As an Iowa State grad, it's my fear with Matt Campbell.

Re: Big10 Football
I think Bielema found out the grass isnt always Greener after his SEC stint. At his age by year 4 (55) and if he cant make the Illini respectable he might be more likely to play his days out at Illinois especially if they compensate him well. Campbell is younger and more likely to get nabbed away.
