Judging from last and this week’s scores…Illinois is better than Ohio State.

Too much celebrating after last night's win?

Nope. I’m saying just taking into account these last two weeks of scores.
Last week Michigan beat Illinois on a last second field goal in Ann Arbor. This week Michigan went to Columbus and beat the Ohio State University like an elderly paid escort.
Michigan would agree, Illinois was the better opponent.

Re: U of I football
The strength of schedules for OSU & Illinois are very similar. Illinois went 8-4 and OSU went 11-1. Illinois lost at home to MSU 23-15. OSU beat MSU in East Lansing 49-20.
OSU lead Michigan 20-17 at halftime and should have been ahead by more. They sure laid an egg in the second half and deserved to lose. Blown coverages, 90 yards in penalties and dropped passes. Michigan looked more confident and more poised.

So I take it that you don't like my hypotheses that Illinois is better than the Ohio State University?
I like all of your argument except the halftime score thingy. Who cares what the halftime score was?
Illinois was a play away from beating Michigan at their place, they were a play away from beating Indiana at their place. The other two losses were close games but not one play differences. But again, I wasn't looking at the entire season, just the last two weeks. Nine days ago tOSU was clobbering Maryland by 13. Just sayin'.

The week OSU beat Maryland their margin of victory was greater than that of the other 3 top 4 teams. That’s football, it’s hard to bring your A game every week. That’s why you have upsets.Teetime wrote:OSUBucks wrote:The strength of schedules for OSU & Illinois are very similar. Illinois went 8-4 and OSU went 11-1. Illinois lost at home to MSU 23-15. I think the Illini coaching staff has got more out of their players than the OSU staff has out of theirs.

Re: U of I football
Illinois should have beaten Michigan but the officials allowed the illegal pick play Michigan ran on 4th down on the last drive. Couple that with the clear touchdown catch that was called off by the officials in the Indiana game, Illinois should be 10-2 and playing in the Big 10 Championship.

You can knit pick at calls that were or werent made all throughout the game. Cant pick and choose just one at the end of the game to complain about.

You must not be an Illinois fan. We do that stuff all the time.
