Any of you guys doing Crossfit?
Just read this article. Some really interesting stuff:

Re: fat man challenge
I'm not a crossfitter, but this has been my basic workout since about Thanksgiving:
Monday--jogging. Distance varies, but I'm up to 3-3.5 miles now and walk it up to an even 4.
Tuesday--eliptical for 15-25 minutes and two mile walk with treadmill set slightly uphill. Chest workout afterwards
Wednesday--same as Tuesday except go little longer on the cardio as I don't lift.
Thursday--jogging plus tricep and bicep workout
Friday--the above eliptical and walking, but again a tad longer as I don't lift
Saturday/Sunday--One day I go with a fairly extensive shoulder and back workout but no cardio and then the other day I go exclusively cardio with another jog. Just depends on which day I have more time.
If I chose Sunday as the jogging day, that throws things off a day as I don't normally jog two days in a row. Also, my left knee doesn't allow for much lower body lifting, but now that I'm losing weight again, it feels better so I may try some light squatting and/or leg press here in a couple weeks to see how it feels.

A vegan, an atheist and a crossfitter walk into a bar. How do I know? They all talked about it within two minutes of getting there....

Re: fat man challenge
A lot of Crossfit (especially the "culture") doesn't appeal to me but I do like some of the metabolic conditioning stuff. I'm getting a little bored with the elliptical. I might start doing some workout-of-the-day stuff on my conditioning days.
The T-Nation article is a really good read. Christian Thibodeoux is a pretty big name in the iron game and he was pretty skeptical of Crossfit when it first became a "thing". When a guy like him comes out and says that there are a lot of merits to Crossfit, it is worth paying attention to.

252.0 this morning after running. 254 before. Both new lows for me. Down 3 notches on my belt from the start of school.
Squatted 365 3 sets of 5 yesterday. Did 375 for 3 reps last week. Inclined 225 my last 5 reps yesterday. Benched 285 last 5 reps last week.
Very pleased all around.

Re: fat man challenge
PS- my wife signed us up for a clean eating challenge a couple weeks ago. (It's not a cleanse) Basically you just eat unprocessed foods. It has resulted in me eating a TON of protein. Usually over 200 grams a day. Yesterday I ate 240 grams. I eat way more- usually 500 calories plus- than I was over the Christmas break. We're now doing it for a month. Lost about 10 lbs since we started doing it.

I'm almost back down to the 265 I claimed most of last calendar year. Weight room-wise, I'm getting back into it. Last week was my "heavy" week and I was supposed to end my bench workout with a set of 215 3 reps and I actually got it 5 so I'm improving there. I haven't seriously lifted legs since I played college football but since I'm starting to lose weight again, my left knee is starting to feel much better so I may try some light squat or leg press here in a few weeks, see how the knee feels afterwards, and go from there.

252.8 this morning out of bed. Thanks flu.
Didn't get puking sick, but sure didn't eat anything. Had a banana and a serving of home made mac n cheese yesterday to eat. My FitBit said I slept 17 hours yesterday. Felt better around 4 and went for a run. If that wasn't running on empty, I don't know what is. Took 33 mins to run 3 miles. Feel good today though.

250.6 after my run this morning. 253.8 before. Really wanted to break 250 today, but it will happen. Eating like crazy too. Metabolisms are awesome when you get them going.

HB, I accidentally hit the "-" instead of the "+" on your picture. We're all assholes here, but hopefully no one is a big enough asshole to intentionally "-" that picture. Congrats and feel free to return the "-" on my post here!

However, with some of my apparent fan club on here and the idiotic + - system, it doesn't surprise me anymore when anything gets the red mark of death. Don't get me wrong, I think the intention of the + - system was good when we changed forums, but now it's just an opportunity for lurkers and basically pussies to "take shots" or further antagonize from even further behind the comforts of their keyboards.

Re: fat man challenge
Only 250.8 today after the 4.75 mile run. My "celebration" Thursday isn't helping. Ate Mexican for lunch and had pizza for supper. Went to Flessor's Candy Kitchen in Tuscola yesterday with the family. Really good food if you're there around lunch time. Back at it today though.
Weights still 6 days a week. Lifted with the kids Wed instead of waiting for my wife. Got after it a little just to show the natives what a good workout should look like. Bench of 275 3 sets of 5, Deadlift 405 2 sets of 5 (did 315 first set- haven't DL in over a year) and 1 leg squat 3 sets of 5 each leg with 155. We then did box jumps (really the only thing I didn't do), sled pulls and finished the day of with tire war.

Re: fat man challenge
Really getting back in my lifting routine after spring break. Ran a half-marathon today but I have been over 190 for a while. I would like to get down to 180 by summer.

Re: fat man challenge
First day back since 3/27 (8th grade trip to Washington, DC last week. According to an app on my phone, we walked over 25 miles during the trip so I definitely got some decent work in. Weather was beautiful!).
Snatch from HAK: Worked up to 3x135
Dead Lift: Worked up to 405x3x3
DB Bench Press: 95x3x10, 95x12
Accessory stuff: cable pull-throughs, snatch grip barbell rows, and planks
My son is kicking ass...Kid is in 7th grade and weighs about 145. Worked up to 225x3x3 at the end of his workout on deadlifts today.
