Video Replay Question

Last night a ref told one of our coaches, "You aren't showing that to the coaches are you?" He went on to say that you cannot show coaches the previous play on a iPad or tablet. I didn't hear anything about a new rule like this.

Later in the game he said the same thing but basically said to go behind the players to watch the film on the sidelines.

Just curious if any of you had the same experience or any clarification of the rule.

i think there needs to be further explanation on this whole "replay" rule. it's my belief that instant replay (like what is shown on a video scoreboard) is NOT the same as video review (like refs do in college and nfl to potentially change a call). the language of the rule is confusing. on Friday night, the refs made sterling stop showing instant replays on their video scoreboard during the game. to me, this is a misinterpretation of the new rule.

What is the new rule?

When did the officials make the decision about scoreboard replays? After a highlight play, or after a 50-50 penalty?

Sterling shows nearly every play right after it happens. the referees decision came after a rather mundane play.
