Re: fat man challenge
What?
Oh.
316. Went back to NISB stuff on 1/6. That has slowed down my free time a bit, and its not going to get any free-er for the next week-and-a-half between website/work. One employee left and I took the hours for the money. Just got off work now, only to go back in at 8 a.m. today.
Right now I'm trying to find a way to balance NISB stuff with work and create exercise time. I'll continue to do the tiny things such as parking far away & finding more things to clean at work (which involves moving, bending, etc.).
My Thursday looks like waking up and going to work, followed by laundry, followed by wrestling Q&A, and perhaps after that I'll make a visit to the treadmill once again. I hope I'm not too tired by the time that comes around.
Eating habits haven't changed, just lack of exercise time at the moment. As of my inital post I'm -27.

Down 2 more to 314 as of this afternoon, and perhaps another small walk will make it -30 for the experience.
However, I do have a bit of a cold and I wonder if this helps or hurts me (just in this regard).

Re: fat man challenge
I'll admit I was embarrassed to admit that on Jan 2 I was back up to 307. This morning I weighed 292 after my run. Have just flat been eating less. Feel better and the persistent soreness in my knees has started to recede. Still want to get down to 285 and under on a regular basis before mid Marchish. My ultimate goal is to see some 27something readings before the UofI clinic at the end of March.

Re: fat man challenge
i am down 17.9 since onset.
have cut out all beer, which isnt huge since i only drank the 55cals before.
eating better, had been off of exercising for almost a week but got back in today and the rest of the week looks like ill be good.
i wanted to close the month out down 25 but dont think that is realistic (or probably not the healtiest), so have reconfigured that to 20lbs. if i can get under 230 for the first time in over 2 years it will be a good start.

Re: fat man challenge
New job functions mean many heavy lunches and dinners. Increased travel means even more fancy dinners out (drinks/desserts too) - or quick meals in airports.
Plus, I'm not coaching any longer, nor have I done yard work this past year (new home, hired a service).
Being that I turned 40 last week and weigh about 210, I'll actively participate in this program again with a goal of reaching 185 by summer.

Re: fat man challenge
Well, not yoga but I'm on the WIU campus Tuesdays and Thursdays for a class to get caught up on my certification. Even though I'm only on campus for these two days, my student ID entitles me to use of the Rec center. Let's just say that with the "scenery" present, I have no problem staying on the cardio machines for long periods of time.
I guess the point is, there's nothing wrong with using whatever motivates you to lose weight!

Re: fat man challenge
yoga is great for the core. i recommend it to patients.
im told, as ive never tried, that it does burn a good amount of calories compared to the work you "think your doing" which doesnt seem like very much. there is levels of yoga, i do recommend starting out easiest and working your way up.

We are going to do yoga (and likely go to a chiro) for my sick kid (Twin A), who now has rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis resulting from the remicade infusions she takes to manage Crohns. She's having hip and knee problems, which have resulted in bunion toes.

Back from Playa del Carmen, haven't weighed in yet... But I did run 4-5 miles every day (6 days in a row) with my sister. I haven't put in those kinda running miles in a long time....

Re: fat man challenge
I hit my revised goal for the month today.
I had originally intended to lose 25lbs this month just because I knew the first ten shouldnt have even been there. but then I figured a more healthy goal was 20lbs, as of this a.m. I am down 20.0 lbs even. If my GI bug keeps up then getting to -25lb doesnt seem out of the question, but will be happy with maintaing this weight thru the month and allow my body to stabilize after the recent major weight loss and then start back to exercising daily.
havent had this motivation in a longtime, the weight contest I got into with a prize of 1200 to the winner was the best thing I could have done. even if I dont win any money if I can be this healthy til mid march it will have been worth it

Re: fat man challenge
294 this morning after the run. Usually run on Sunday morning, but with the ice coming, I went today. Up two from last Sunday, but days off school kill me. More time to just sit around and eat bad stuff.
May do the elliptical tomorrow for about a half hour just to see if I can get lower than last week.

Re: fat man challenge
Since Jan 1 I am down 10 pounds. Doing it mostly through counting calories, trying to stay under 2100 /day.
Re: fat man challenge
For the first time in a while, I've had a breakdown this weekend as I pretty much ate everything in sight! I should still be down a few more pounds, especially by Thursday when I post a new weight.

312 after a treadmill session this morning. Counting calories has really helped. Now down 25 since starting this, and down 31 overall since mid-November.

Re: fat man challenge
I had a nine mile day at WIU today. Just walking back and forth to class from the Q Lot--right by the Hall--is a mile alone and then in the Rec I ran 7 and walked another one. I was worried that having to spend days in Macomb would hamper my working out, but so far it's actually helped it.

Re: fat man challenge
I did weigh in at 260 this morning, so down five on the calendar year and down 73 from my alltime high. I need to get focused on my diet more, though. Given how much I jogged, walked, elipticaled, and lifted weights this month, I really should have lost more. I've been pretty undisciplined with my diet the last couple months, so I need to focus more and plan ahead better on meals. My next few months will be busy and hectic but consistent in schedule, so I know it can be done. I just need to do it now!
