nlp/washington fri 7pm.

CGB travels to AO Fri night at 7pm.

Tuscola entertains Villa Grove Heritage at 2pm.

I find these game times personally hilarious as I was told in 2011 that Cerro Gordo "doesn’t play playoff games on Fri night" and Tuscola told me they never wanted to play Week 1 on Sat afternoon. Hence, why we played Saturday night at 7pm.

MTZ plays at Cahokia Sat at 4pm

JCA at Metamora 6p Sat

GRF at Triopia.  2:00PM

184 miles.

Anyone have a pregame itinerary they would like to share.  I am looking for one that involves a significant bus trip.  

Something like

7:00  Depart GRHS
9:30  Arrive ???? Eat lunch, Walk through,
10:30 Load backup Drive to Triopia
11:00 Arrive Triopia

I have always just done it the way I know, but many of you have much more playoff experience that involves longer distances.  Thanks.

When we went to Camp Point in 12 there was a sponsored team breakfast at 7 or 8, we left at 10ish? I think and drove that gas station north of Pittsfield, got out, stretched legs, I think got sandwiches from the parents and got to Camp Point at like 11:30. Did walk through till noon, specialists out at noon, play at 1.

No.  But we did overcome a fumble on the opening KOR to make it 19-14 at halftime.  We ran 7 offensive plays in the 2nd half.  It was the most helpless I've ever felt in a game in my life.  We just couldn't stop them.  Lost 33-14.  They 3 yards and a cloud of dusted us to death in the first half.

I will go to my grave thinking that was the most talented team I've ever coached. We had Unanimous All Conference kids from the 13 Quarterfinal team that never saw the field. If we could have had that team in 11, I should have been fired if we didn't make the semis. But, with it being the first year of the coop, we did really well for ourselves to do what we did.

We made a habit of stopping at rest stops. They are usually shaded, with picnic areas to eat. Have your select few parents drive ahead of the team bus, stop, and have all the coolers and food ready to go. Kids get out, bathroom, walk around for a bit, eat, and get back on the bus. Limit the amount of parents that know. It should be part of the trip, not a pep rally when you stop. We usually broke it into about 2/3rds of the way there, and 4 hours pre-game to eat. Looking at your route, there is a nice PILOT at the NB exit that we have used on the way to QND. We also usually had a team breakfast before departure.

Andy doesn't like to play on Friday or Saturday night in the playoffs. Stan and Rick did.

Andy doesn't like to play on Friday or Saturday night in the playoffs.  Stan and Rick did.

That game was a freaking headache from both sides to schedule. Board president yelling at me from one side, pressure to go another day from the other. Very unpleasant experience. And then we gplayed the game.

The next year the subject of a possible Friday game came up and I heard the same "CG doesn't play playoff games on Friday" stuff. I said we should probably let the IHSA know that we can never play in a state championship then. Those individuals continued and eventually I said-"I'm pretty sure I'm in charge, so we'll play it whenever the \"f\"ing I want to." I don't think it was real well received.
