Speaker Madigan

His office received a grand jury subpoena today. Also today Commonwealth Edison agreed to pay a $200 million fine in alleged bribery scheme involving Madigan allies. Could this finally be the end? It doesn't look good that's for sure.

I'll bet any records that the FBI are looking for in Madigan's office were destroyed months ago.This case has been going on for some time. They have wiretaps on at least one member in Madigan's circle. I think they offer someone a reduced sentence in return for incriminating Madigan.
Madigan just delivered a statement claiming that he's done nothing illegal or improper. He's digging in his heels. The Democrat members of the House need to grow a pair and throw him out. Easier said than done.

Is Madigan done? I'll believe it when I see it. I'd put my money on nothing happening to Madigan. He is more corrupt than all of our Governor who have been in prison combined.

FYI - Albert Einstein never said that. It is one of the most misattributed quotes today. According to investigative reporter Michael Becker the quote is attributed to a novel by mystery writer, Rita Mae Brown.

I'm 64 years old. In my lifetime we have had republican governors for 38.5 years and democratic governors for 25.5 years.
Five of them have been charged with felonies, four convicted. One impeached.
Madigan must pay the price.

So far 6 Democrat women in the House have publicly stated that Madigan needs to resign. Today Madigan was calling some Democrat members of the House gauging their support. He's worried. No responses yet from any of the Democrat men in the House. They like the campaign money Madigan doles out to his members. It's time for him to go.

The Governor was asked today that if Madigan called him would he tell him that he should resign. The Governor could have set an example for the Democrats in the Legislature and said yes but he passed.
