15 states, 7000 miles, countless beers and restaurant meals... weighed in at 195! Didn't gain any weight on my Western Tour!

Are you building the Tennessee version of the Great Wall of China? I feel like you've been digging post holes for years now...

Re: fat man challenge
Hi. My name is Head Idiot and I'm a fatass. Weighed 287 this morning. Have tried to do better this week. Today is the first day I've weighed in about 3 weeks since moving because I was embarrassed to see what it said. Really disgusted with myself that I've let myself get back into this situation.
Goal is to get to 270 or below by Thanksgiving.

Re: fat man challenge
I had reached 277 about a week ago...but I've been in Colorado and Nebraska visiting my brother and a friend since last Monday. My brother is one of those people who can eat whatever he wants and keep weight off and his habits have rubbed off on me. I hate to think what I would weigh in at now...

Re: fat man challenge
Survived my trip in better shape than I thought and in fact, I weighed in this morning at 272...practicing in the evening but still getting in full workouts in the morning has helped me make a nice run here before school starts.

280.8 after my run Sunday (have switched Sat running to Sunday and Sun lifting to Sat).
Hope to see something say 27something after next Sunday.

I made it to 270 even at some point; I haven’t weighed in in a while though. I did run my fastest 5K at 36:09 this weekend!!

276 after the run Sunday.
Would have probably been in the 274ish range had we not gone out to eat Saturday night. Clothes starting to fit better.

I've been hanging out in the mid-270s pretty much all of football season. This is actually good for me in that I've only put a few pounds on during the season. For whatever reason--lack of discipline most I guess--I normally have trouble keeping it off during the season.

At this point, I'm just waiting for football to be done so I can attack this after a little rest.

Re: fat man challenge
For my 10000th post, I need to get my fat ass back into this. The winter was not kind to me as I just completely fell of the wagon. Approached if not passed 300 over Christmas break.
April 27th post run weight- 289
May 4th post run weight- 286
Shooting for sub 285 this Saturday. It's one of those deals where you wonder why the hell you let yourself get this way.

Re: fat man challenge
Good for you HI.
I'm probably 20lbs heavier than I was a year ago. Time for me to attack that issue. I have never really worried much about my weight, but I now have clothes that fit me last summer and no longer do.
I'm way too cheap to buy new clothes.
Congrats on the 10,000 posts! I'm keeping count of the number that that I agreed with. I'll share that number with you after the celebration is over.

Re: fat man challenge
Gonna start the Alzheimer's Prevention Diet. A friend lost 90 pounds on it, and she really wasn't in it for the weight loss. It's pretty much how I eat anyway (low carbs, high protein) but with some added stuff like cocoa, etc....

I'm the exact same way. My eating/nutrition habits went to crap this winter. I actually maintained a fairly regular regiment of weight lifting and jogging....I just ate almost literally everything in site too.
I've lost some weight to get down to 293...and I see I posted I was mid-270s in October.

I never missed a day lifting or running, but like you, ate garbage. My job situation has not helped. Lot of comforting foods consumed.wolverine55 wrote:Head Idiot wrote:For my 10000th post, I need to get my fat ass back into this. The winter was not kind to me as I just completely fell of the wagon. I'll send you a reminder every day if you think it will help.
I have Mrs. Bird's cell number still, I'll text her.

Re: fat man challenge
been awhile since i posted here.
after getting down to 204ish in april of 2018, i put a few more pounds back on. i hovered between 210 and 216 for a few months, which is pretty typical for me. i didn't change my eating habits at all and continued my usual workout routine - 30+ minutes of cardio 4 or 5 times per week.
this summer, i decided to try to get down to 204 again. i continued to do my regular cardio work but increased it to 6 or 7 days a week. my weight didn't change much. i was at 210ish in early june. earlier this month, i decided to "diet" a little bit. that is, i focused on portion limits and counting calories (using an app on my phone).
i'm glad to report that i dropped from 210 to 204 in 2 weeks. i credit simply being aware of the calories i was taking in. there is a little bit of sacrifice involved, but i wouldn't say it's hard.
