anyone see batavia vs mt carmel

I am not sure I have ever seen a bigger hose job by the refs. Batavia got it in the worse way from my perspective.

What happened?

a ton of flags on batavia and few on carmel. The last 3 minutes of the game was a travesty against batavia in my opinion. Horrifically reffed game to the point I question it. Seemed very one sided.

I watched the whole game.  There was one bad PI call and a bad non call for 12 men on the field that went against Batavia during Mt Carmel's game winning drive.   The PI call in the endzone that gave MC an untimed down for the last play of the game looked like a correct call to me.

Batavia should have scored more than 14 pts in that game. Way more.  And it wasn't the refs or MC that stopped the Bulldogs from doing that.

That game should have been over twice.

Batavia in theory *could* have previously put the game out of reach I suppose.
My opinion, when two teams are evenly matched, a few bad calls *can* make a difference and they appeared to last night.
The “late hit” that set up MC first half field goal was bad.  The 12 men non call was also bad.  The long PI on 4th down was flat out abhorrent.

I can admit the camera angle was bad for the viewing all game and was zoomed out. it looked to me like the ball was tipped by a backer before any of the "contact" would have even been able to happen. It also looked like the ref had the flag out amazingly fast. I am not sure the ball hit the ground before the flag did.

I dont even like Batavia, they put a beat down on us senior year I cant forget, but I find myself feeling bad for them right now. Sure they could have scored more, but that game was stolen from them and it was not only 2 calls/noncalls. I was commenting to a friend before the 1st half was even over that for Batavia to win they were gonna have to beat Mt Carmel and the refs. It got worse from there.

Although I admit to rooting for MC last night, I feel badly for Batavia. The PI call and the non call for illegal substitution were pretty horrid.

Batavia should have won that game. And they also should have scored twice as many points as they did which would have rendered moot the awful officiating

Is this one of the PIs you're talking about? I see an obvious DPI. Where's the horrendous part? Defender drags the receiver down with him.

I didn't see anything on the first DPI, the second was legit. There isn't a penalty for 12 men on the field, there is illegal substitution or illegal participation. It obviously wasn't participation nor was it a substitution infraction. No huddle was broke, no attempt at deception, and the snap wasn't even close to being imminent. No way am I flagging that. Our crew has two slogans we go by, slow whistles and get the whales, not the minnows. Ive bounced this play off of a  an officials FB page Im in and not one response would flag this.

The PI in the end zone wasn’t a bad call.  The previous one that kept the drive alive from about midfield was awful.

The first PI was a horrendous call that would have sealed the game. The 12 man non call never happens in that situation. The last PI was the correct call.
