high school teams having pre-season games vs other schools? Empty high school teams having pre-season games vs other schools?

is it a fairly common practice for teams in illinois to have pre-season (prior to week 1) games vs other schools? in full pads? i know it's against the ihsa rules and regs, but how often does it happen?

I don't know of any schools in Illinois that do this.

I believe that it's common practice in several states including Texas, Florida, Ohio, and North Carolina.

because i know of at least two schools who did it this year.  one is still in the playoffs. would it shock anyone if i told you they are both CPL schools?

CPL has their own rules and the IHSA won't touch them.
