Peoria activities
Headed to Morton/Peoria for a few days with the wife. Looking for some fun things to do while there. Wondered if a few of you locals could point us in the right direction. Sorry, we aren’t going to Big Al’s. And I know where the Boat is. I may have frequented the poker room there in the past. Not in the cards for this trip.
Eats, nightlife, and/or fun stuff during the day to see.
Thanks in advance.
Oh yeah, I need the best pizza places in Bloomington/Normal and Peoria.

pizza-225 in mark twain hotel.
food and beer-across the river at granite city brewery in east peoria, they have an extensive menu and great flatbread pizza.
a must stop is the original burger barge near the boat.
wings-harold's chicken shack right at edge of bradley's campus on main.

I like the "Fish House" in Peoria. I'm a fan of fish.
I like the minor league ballpark if the team is in town and the area just two or three blocks toward the river for bars and food (on a nice evening out on the deck looking out at the river.)
Are you taking your wife or a girlfriend?
Why in God's name did two people give you red marks for asking about this stuff?

you can see granite city brewery from the 3rd base sideline. i've watched the fireworks at dozier field at least twice from the east peoria side of the river.

Re: Peoria activities
Thanks for the info. We stopped at Garcias in Bloomington out of nostalgia.
I tried to balance out those red marks Neil and Kevin. Granite City and Burger Barge are certainly on the list.
Tee, your guess is as good as mine on the red marks. Prob someone with a really small wiener.

I am guessing it was not very good. That place has to survive on Nostalgia basically. They were the kings in the 80s, and then, they changed recipes and bought newer ovens...

We grew up on that pizza and Flippos. I can’t say here was a noticeable drop off in the pizza if any.
Currently sitting at the Buger Barge. Thanks Neil, this place reminds the wife of Florida. We shall see how the food is!

You could take the family to the Chink Rink in Pekin then grab a few cool ones at the Hole-in-the-Wall Biker Bar on 8th Street

Cruised thru Peoria last month... had to stop at the Barge. Also, Blue Duck Inn on the river front.
