Re: Week 3 Scores
Saw on Facebook that Morris won pretty easily over Ottawa....think they have Sycamore next week which will probably be for Spring 2021 bragging rights in whatever conference they are in right now.

All favorites won in the ICE.
Coal City 3-0 (playing well but weak schedule thus far)
Peotone 3-0 (see Coal City)
Wilmington 3-0 (same ol Wilmo, 2 tough weeks with Coal City and Peotone looming)
Lisle 1-2 (missing a few key cogs but improve weeke to week)
Herscher 1-2 (struggling big time with numbers, especially for the future)
Reed-Custer 1-2 (lots of hype about the lower classes)
Manteno 0-3 (still yet to score a point)
Streator (only about 30 in entire program)

Some of these ICE schools are going to really struggle with numbers the next few years, heard Herscher has 12 kids on the JV team (plus 4 or 5 sophs playing varsity).. not sure whats happened, but has happened quickly.. 3 years of making at least the quarters, then last years train wreck 3-6 season and now they are going to need to recruit hard to keep the program alive it seems

It just goes to show that you have to do more than win to keep a program successful.

Re: Week 3 Scores
It started here about 7-8 years ago at the youth level and has carried over.. 15 years ago, Limestone and Herscher had their own youth programs with two great facilities, oldest division, each program would have 25-30 kids.. then it got to where each team was having a hard time getting more than 15 so they combined, in 2019 they had a hard time fielding one team..
Now I think it will be better with the kids in the middle school right now, I have reffed some basketball there and they have a lot more kids playing sports at that level.. we have some good sophs and junior kids, just not a lot of numbers..
