Portillo's coming to Springfield

Finally! Projected opening is mid 2021. Location is Veterans and Lindbergh.

i told my wife i'll eat there once a week for at least 6 months. i've probably eaten at a portillo's a dozen times. i have always ordered the same thing, big beef dipped w/ hot peppers and fries. i've never had anything else because it's so good, and i don't want to be disappointed if i get something not as good. now with close proximity i can try more things. i'm pumped!

HIGHLY recommend their chocolate cake, and chocolate cake shake.

If the Springfield Portillo's will have a Barnelli's Pasta Bowl inside, try the chopped salad with chicken. It's fantastic.

i'm hearing a potentially earlier date. 970am said springfield could've had a portillo's much earlier, but our esteemed mayor(i really do like him) requested portillo's wait until ours could be #66 in honor of route 66 which happens to be the interior theme.

unfortunately, they'll be opening only as a drive thru and delivery service during our new pandemic order. i think i'll have my first order delivered to huck's.

i've had the cake shake. i could only drink about 2 sips as it was waaaay to rich. i gave the rest to ctbftr.

and as far as me eating a pasta bowl there, maybe after i've eaten there for 2 or 3 years i'll consider it. i have not heard that there will a barnelli's at our location. the radio said this will be one of their smallest portillo's.

I got a tour today (in an official capacity) it is really cool inside. According to the Management December 8th is the opening date. They provided lunch which was excellent. There is not a lot of perks to my job, but today was one of them!

Chicago Dogs are the Bomb!! Combos are delicious also!
