where ya headed week 1???

nah, i don't really care.

it's week 1 and there has been very little action here. wanted to break the ice.

I don't usually go to out of town SHG games anymore, but I'm driving up to Normal to see the opener with my brother-in-law that also played at Griffin many years ago.

First...out to dinner at the new Destihl Brewery.

Interested to see if they can win 11 games this year to put Ken Leonard on top of the heap for Illinois football coaches (total wins).

I'll be headed to Earlville High School for the annual War on 34 soccer tournament as we will open the tourney with a game against DePue/Hall Coop.

If you are not headed to Clifton Central, you better have a good reason. Big Hitter and I were just talking via PM about our game Friday. Logistics of locker rooms, distance to the field, where to park the bus and stuff, I had only been there once for 7 on 7. He filled me in properly

That would be awesome and make my life so much more fun. I’m not sure I’d trust myself with a drone though. I’d fly it to the concession stand around the 2nd qtr with a note and $5 attached that says “1 porkchop please”

No, unfortunately Keaton will miss the fall soccer season. Doctor won't clear him to do any cutting or explosive movements off the knee until September 23rd. Their last game is in first week of October.

He has been recruited to be the varsity cameraman for the season, so they're keeping him around. He will begin to do some jogging and leg strengthening starting today, but it's been a long road back.

I will likely be home watching or listening with the wife and kids, even though morris opens 15 minutes away in what should be a good game. It is my brides 35th bday and leaving her with the kids in foresight seems like a solid way to land myself in the dog house.

IMO it is a must win game for Morris. With top ranked Washington coming to town week two and a week three matchup against 6a ranked Crete Monee, Morris can not start conference 0-3 with sycamore, dekalb and kaneland left.

It is my understanding that this will be Morris and Coal Citys first football meeting together, which I think is awesome. I appreciate the wide spread success Coal City has had in multiple sports and root for them often... when they aren't facing morris.

CC is a first class host! Never played there except for 7 on 7's but hear nothing but good things from coaches who play there. Good luck to both teams.

Coal City at Morris should be a pretty good game but as we all know week 1 games are always toss ups with solid programs playing each other.

We got a tough 3 weeks and it all starts playing at Manteno. I happen to live there so it is little bit of a rivalry for me as I have gotten to know many of families and their kids on the team. It is a bit of a Neighborhood Braggin Rights game for me. Should be a fun one.

i'll venture a guess. why would anyone outside of georgetown or clifton central care about this game? other than that, no clue.

I think most folks here are not secret. Certainly the man I referenced is not. Also, I was showing my appreciation of him providing details.

It was sarcasm for sure about heading to CCentral. I know many of you have equally big events happening this Friday. Although, it is not that often when fellow Turksters get to play each other.

Yes it is, but it's fading.

From what I heard this weekend, Paw Paw will probably dissolve this year. 64 kids enrolled according to the IHSA. Leland and Earlville have been co-oping for some sports for awhile, but it sounds like that's breaking up as well. They let Kirkland-Hiawatha in a few years back, but a lot of those schools are so small. One wonders how long LaMoille & Leland are both under 100, too.

Paw Paw kids are playing sports at Indian Creek now. Little Ten may not be Ten for much longer.

Did Sterling @ Marengo for Week 1. Will do Newman @ Princeton for Week 2, and Amboy @ West Carroll for Week 3.
