Coronavirus III
OSUBucks wrote:I don't know if Trump really believes that or if it is just for his base. I know a lot of Trump supporters and they typically think global warming is a hoax too.
Global warming is not a hoax. The earth is getting warmer. As it always does when emerging from an Ice Age, which we're currently doing.
The real question (whether you think it's a natural warming or "man made") is what to do about it. And we already have the answer: Gen IV Nuclear Energy, the kind that EATS nuclear waste from other reactors. We have the answer. It just won't be implemented because, uh, "nuclear."
Gen IV Nuclear, the safest option.

Re: Coronavirus III
Climate change is predicted (according to the UNIPCC report) to cause an additional 1 million deaths per year, 70 years from now. ONE MILLION DEATHS!!!! 70 years from now.
Meanwhile, lack of access to clean water and sanitation cause 2-3 millions deaths per year. NOW. And we know how to provide clean water and sanitation. We even know the cost ($220 billion according to the UN). So climate change is a "hoax" because it's a political rallying call, not a problem we can't solve.

Re: Coronavirus III
220 billion? That is a drop in the bucket. We have a few Americans that could pay for that themselves. The Corona stimulus could have paid for that ten times over. That seems like a low number.
Did the UN forget to carry the nine?

No, "drinking bleach" according to CNN. This is what Trump was talking about months ago.
Re: Coronavirus III
Today Biden referred to the future administration as Harris-Biden. A lot of people actually believe that Harris will have more responsibility than your typical VP. Perhaps a Freudian slip on his part.

I don't have a problem with a moderate regardless of their party affiliation.
That might generally be true, but there are areas where you don't see any Trump signs, and I'm not talking traditionally democratic areas either.
Yesterday, I was in the Chicago suburb of Winnetka...definitely not your typical bastion of liberalism or knee jerk dems. Got a bit turned around and drove down some streets with homes in the $2 million range, give or take half a million. If lawn signs are any barometer, Biden will carry Winnetka in a landslide. If they are not a reliable barometer, then there must be a lot of Winnetka resident Trump supporters in the closet. Granted, Winnetka is probably below average in terms of the incidence of homeowners putting political signs in their front yards, but I saw at least a dozen Biden signs and zero Trump signs.

I remember that. this was a feeble attempt to be sarcastic. i thought it was a little ironic nbc would publish anything in a positive light that trump had mentioned...hcq, uv light, etc...

Harris called it the Harris administration yesterday. Interesting they both did this so closely together.OSUBucks wrote:Today Biden referred to the future administration as Harris-Biden. If Biden wins I wouldn't expect him to run for a 2nd term and instead I'd expect Harris to win the Democratic nomination.

Re: Coronavirus III
I doubt he makes it through his 1st term. In fact, I'd wager hugely it doesn't happen. Depends on how much time the media allows him to hide in a basement. It could very well be Woodrow Wilson 2.OSUBucks wrote:Head Idiot wrote:Harris called it the Harris administration yesterday. I'm not a lawn-sign guy anyway, but there's no way I'd put a Trump sign up on any property I owned in Illinois. Especially if it was worth $2 million. Way too likely to get vandalized.

Not in stately Winnetka. Too unseemly. There, fear of being socially ostracized by your neighbors would be far more of a deterrent to putting up a Trump lawn sign than fear of being vandalized.

Thus, the shy-Trump voter syndrome. And the reason the polls were so wrong in 2016.

But the polls were mostly correct in 2016. I keep posting those polls and they were (when averaged) within 1.1%. They showed Clinton ahead by 3.2% she only won by 2.1%

Re: Coronavirus III
According to Nate Silver, Biden needs to win by 3%-4% in order to have a 74% chance of winning the Electoral College vote.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/nate-silver-electoral-college-for-biden-not-safe-unless-he-wins-popular-vote-by-5-plus-points
If he wins by 4% to 5% he has an 89% chance of winning the Electoral College.
A win by more than 4% in the popular vote is a relative landslide given the make-up of the country. Plus, we still have the debates in which Biden is not expected to be able to either understand or speak the English language given his mental deterioration. It looks bad for Joe.

Re: Coronavirus III
Only Rasmussen had it wrong. Trump lost by 2.1%
Actually, Rasmussen got it right a week later when their poll (in your post) was spot on. Clinton by two percent.
