My father in law collects old sports magazines and in the late 60s/ early 70s I think Pro Football Weekly published an article about the IQ and personality traits of players by position. According to it, the IQ drops and the narcissism rises as you get further from the ball at the snap. Centers and QBs are usually your smartest and team oriented and it reverses as you get to WRs.

Whole situation reminded me of the Seinfeld episode when George tried to get fired from his job.

I agree he's a douche, but he'll be dynamite in New England. For whatever reason, whether it's Kraft, Bellichick, or Brady or all three, malcontents normally don't cause any problems when they are with the Patriots.

After seeing a few news stories on this situation, I believe this was all predetermined to happen. AB never had any intentions on playing with the Raiders. He did all he could to get released and once again, the Pats are involved in some sketchy business.

Yeah. And then there is the fact that the absolute last team that Pittsburgh wanted to lose Brown to was the Pats. Ummmmmm...

Is Brown that smart? I don't think he is.
I don't understand the Raiders just releasing him. I get that they didn't want to pay Brown the guaranteed money, but, it's just money, and asswipe money at that. The Raiders aren't very good. They aren't winning anything anyway. Gruden has 8 years left on his contract. The Raiders have all the leverage. Just tell Brown that either he plays for the Raiders or he doesn't play at all. At the very least, buy some time until some kind of deal can be worked out with the league office for compensation.
Now, the Raiders get nothing and look silly. Thinking about the entire season of "Hard Knocks", all the positive things that Gruden and Carr and other people in the Raiders organization said about Brown and the actions they took to accommodate him...it really makes them look like dupes and rubes.

Interesting. I talked to an NFL vet (former OL) not too long ago about head injuries. He told me the closer to the ball along the LOS, the more scrambled their brains get. Centers worst, followed by guards, then tackles...

Yep, he's been released by the Patriots. The story becomes even more crazy. I'm hearing that he was sending threatening texts to his accuser. Not a good move.
