Yep funny how Schwarber was once not available for trade. I think the Yankees were ready to give up a Kings Ransom to aquire him. His value has def gone down. That being said if they ever remember how to hit the ball they can still contend for a title.

Sad thing is, Schwarber just had easily his best season. Thing is, he's a one tool player. He hits home runs. Period. And in today's league there's a million of those guys. He doesn't hit for average, he's a terrible fielder, he can't run real well, he doesn't walk and he's in a league he can't DH. He'd be perfect on the 1990 Detroit Tigers.

I think the fact they shopped Bryant this offseason tells alot about where the team thinks they're headed.

Bryant has slipped the last few years and injuries I think are a big part of that. They are going to have to Lock up Rizzo and Baez in a few years to new deals as well. I think they are trying to get something for Bryant while there is still a potential market for him plus isnt he a Boras Client which means he will be asking for a huge contract when his deal is up

Shwarber's BA has gone from .211 to 230 to 250 over the last three full years. In '19 he hit 38 homers and had 92 RBI's.

He really sucks.

Wow. He gets a hit a whole 1 out of 4 at bats? Wow.

Btw- 38 homers only ranked 8th in the NL last year. 38 homers in a bandbox of a park when homeruns are cheap to find isn't that impressive a stat. Eloy Jimenez hit 31 in 122 games. Schwarber also struck out 25 more times than he got a hit. There's a reason no one is trying 3trade for him.

Eighth in the league?

They should just release him.

How many guys get two hits in every four at bats? Any? One is pretty good.

A .250 average would have got you cut 10 years ago. Now that MLB has become Launch Angle Derby, that apparently makes you untradeable. He's essentially Adam Dunn, without the walks.

And how many hit .500? None obviously, but a whole bunch can get 1 out of 3 or 3 of 10. And not K 150 times doing so. As a "leadoff" hitter nonetheless.

But hey, continue waiting for that breakout season. If it happens, it'll probably be as the Cubs are in 4th and 12 games back.
