Morris will be weak again next year even with the change in conference.

Washington 30 Metamora 15
Dunlap 26 Canton 22
Morton 39 Limestone 13
Pekin 28 East Peoria 13

Bloomington 51 Peoria 40 (Peoria must win at Normal Community to win playoffs)
Normal West 35 Champaign Central 20
Danville 41 Richwoods 12
Normal Community 37 Champaign Centennial 7

Richmond-Burton 52 Macomb 7
IVC 41 Bloomington Central Catholic 10
Springfield 42 U-High 0
Eureka 24 Fieldcrest 14

Washington led Metamora 23-0 at half.  Metamora cut the lead to 23-15 early in 4th quarter and with about eight minutes left a Metamora WR dropped a sure TD pass in the end zone that could have tied the game.  Frustrating, especially considering that three Metamora drives ended at the Washington 12, 15, and 26 on the night (one of those drives resulted in a missed FG).

There had been speculation by the local media that Washington may be the best Mid Illini team of all time.  They are very good but that is really a reach.  If they fall to 5A they will be the favorite to make the championship game just as Dunlap did last year.  If they go 6A they will be a quarterfinal team at best and a likely target for an upset by seed.

BTW, net, the 50/50 was a little over $1600, easily the best in a few years.  Sadly the crap weather kept a lot of crowd away so that pot was very good considering the crowd was probably only 3000 or so.

when dunlap beats dunlap does dunlap get a win and a playoff point? if so you might start seeing more split squad regular season games.

Eastland-Pearl City rallied from a 10-0 halftime deficit to beat Dakota 21-10. EPC is 8-0 and champions of the Northwest Upstate Illini Conference (Northwest Division). A win over Polo next week will give EPC an undefeated regular season.
