Turks pick-em Week Four
It's now time for week four of the high school football season here in Illinois. Here are the rules for the pick-em just in case you forgot them. This week each game will be worth one point, when making your picks please only put down the team who you think will win that game, for the tie breaker the total number of points you think will be scored in that game, and finally please have your picks in before Friday at 7 pm. Here are the current overall standings just in case you didn't see them in the results thread and under that is the games for this week. The best of luck to everyone this week!

Re: Turks pick-em Week Four
I am thankful for what you do with the pick em. I enjoy playing it every week. But, can I make a couple of observations?
It's week four and Williamsville has already made three appearances in the pick em. Also, how about showing a little more pick em love for Lake County teams? This is the second consecutive week without any teams from the third largest county in Illinois.

Re: Turks pick-em Week Four
Williamsville has played three ranked teams and with Williamsville being ranked game is in. I feel Williamsville vs Maroa is a pretty big small school game this weekend. Northern Lake County conference is struggling so far reason for the lack of games, Warren is playing a 0-3 Libertyville team this week, Lake Zurich is playing a 1-2 Lake Forest team, Stevenson is playin Zion who is 1-2, Mundelein is playing a 0-3 Waukegan team. I like seeing you guys do well but I don't like to have to many gimmie games.ramblinman wrote:I am thankful for what you do with the pick em. I enjoy playing it every week. Antioch 3-0 vs. Wauconda 2-1?
Highland Park 2-1 vs. Schaumburg 2-1?

Hey, we already know that Southern Illinois receives far more than it gives relative to the Illinois state budget. Just trying to even things out.

Williamsville- about 10 miles northwest of the geographic center of Illinois, but to you "Southern Illinois".ramblinman wrote:Head Idiot wrote:Ya, cause God forbid we don't have enough Chicago area teams.

Re: Turks pick-em Week Four
Barrington Evanston was actually on my list of potential games. Reason why I didn't add that game Barrinton just beat a top five team in the state I think Barrington rolls Evanston. Was also going to say I thought both Barrington and Evanston are in Cook County, I guess half of Barrington is in Lake County. Which means I did have a Lake County team last week Barington vs Maine South.ramblinman wrote:Bigshot85 wrote:Northern Lake County conference is struggling so far reason for the lack of games, Warren is playing a 0-3 Libertyville team this week, Lake Zurich is playing a 1-2 Lake Forest team, Stevenson is playin Zion who is 1-2, Mundelein is playing a 0-3 Waukegan team. As far as those other two games goes every Monday or Tuesday I make a list of games for the next week. Obviously I know some teams that are good not sure about some of the sleeper teams yet still kinda early in the season. Ihsa website doesn't post teams records till the following Monday, so if I'm going to look up team records after a game is played on a Friday night that's going to take me way to much time.
I'm always up for suggestions though will do my best to get more Lake County games in. Stevenson Lake Zurich could be a good one next week.

I'm wondering how far into the season Althoff can go and still qualify for the Winless Wonder game.
Otherwise, IDGAF.

I vote that Williamsville be in the mix every single week.
It's the only team I guess correctly.

Playing a currently 1-2 North Mac team next week I think they'll get a break from the pick-em for now. Seems like every few years I find a smaller school I have in the pick-em a lot few years back it was Eastland Pearl City.Teetime wrote:I vote that Williamsville be in the mix every single week.

Re: Turks pick-em Week Four
Probably was expected with their youth. Only seven seniors - fewer have major roles. They sent 19 kids to college in the past two years - in some form or the other - and the cupboard is bare. Mostly Juniors starting.Ghengis Khan wrote:crusader wrote:I'm wondering how far into the season Althoff can go and still qualify for the Winless Wonder game.

They started off with a killer schedule - and MD seems to be good again. Hope they bounce back in the South 7 - but they still close with Cardinal Ritter. By the end of the year, this may not be the 5-4 team you want in the first round - if they run the conference table.

Gotcha, Thanks! 19 college players in two years is quite impressive.
