From the new book about President Trump and his posse....

Post by Teetime on Fri Jan 05, 2018 6:43 pm

"Trump liked to say that one of the things that made life worth living was getting your friends’ wives into bed. In pursuing a friend’s wife, he would try to persuade the wife that her husband was perhaps not what she thought. Then he’d have his secretary ask the friend into his office; once the friend arrived, Trump would engage in what was, for him, more or less constant sexual banter. Do you still like having sex with your wife? How often? You must have had a better \"f\"ing than your wife? Tell me about it. I have girls coming in from Los Angeles at three o’clock. We can go upstairs and have a great time. I promise… And all the while, Trump would have his friend’s wife on the speakerphone, listening in."

Does that sound like anyone around here?

Don't really know that.

It's a tale told by our commander-in-chief, so there is a pretty good chance it's not true.

No!

I wouldn't make any of you look bad in front of your wives. No real man would do that.

I would only make you look bad behind your back....sneaking around during practice, and film sessions.

"In 2005, the world was introduced to reclusive billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, friend to princes and an American president, a power broker with the darkest of secrets: He was also a pedophile, accused of recruiting dozens of underage girls into a sex-slave network, buying their silence and moving along, although he has been convicted of only one count of soliciting prostitution from a minor. Visitors to his private Caribbean island, known as “Orgy Island,” have included Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew and Stephen Hawking.Epstein has spent the bulk of his adult life cultivating relationships with the world’s most powerful men. Flight logs show that from 2001 to 2003, Bill Clinton flew on Epstein’s private plane, dubbed “The Lolita Express” by the press, 26 times. After Epstein’s arrest in July 2006, federal tax records show Epstein donated $25,000 to the Clinton Foundation that year.

Epstein was also a regular visitor to Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, and the two were friends. According to the Daily Mail, Trump was a frequent dinner guest at Epstein’s home, which was often full of barely dressed models. In 2003, New York magazine reported that Trump also attended a dinner party at Epstein’s honoring Bill Clinton.

Which definition of irony do you mean?

Irony
[ahy-ruh-nee, ahy-er-]

noun, plural ironies.

1. the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning:
the irony of her reply, “How nice!” when I said I had to work all weekend.
2. Literature.
a technique of indicating, as through character or plot development, an intention or attitude opposite to that which is actually or ostensibly stated.
(especially in contemporary writing) a manner of organizing a work so as to give full expression to contradictory or complementary impulses, attitudes, etc., especially as a means of indicating detachment from a subject, theme, or emotion.
3. Socratic irony.
4. dramatic irony.
5. an outcome of events contrary to what was, or might have been, expected.
6. the incongruity of this.
7. an objectively sardonic style of speech or writing.

Ironic as in who their leaders bang is to be of no consequence to us, but when someone they don't like does it, it's vile and disgusting.

Perhaps, instead of saying you should grab them by it, he should have just suggested that you stick a cigar in it. I remember these staunch defenders of marriage once telling me that what two consenting adults did between one another was of no concern of mine.

By no means do I think either is acceptable or desired, but those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

What about those people that thought that If Pres. Clinton was banging someone in the White House he needed to step down from office, but if President Trump was banging a porn star and paying her hush money.....there is really nothing wrong with that?

That knife cuts both ways.

But I don't think it's irony.

I'm in favor of staying out of everyone's sex life, except yours.

I agree the Clinton thing was way overblown, but at least the Republicans doing most of the overblowing were old, really conservative traditional right Reps. Christian morals were their thing.

Dems acting like it's the end of the world the president is having affairs while championing every alternative lifestyle on earth is a bit much to swallow.

In Springfield it was page #4 news with the local paper, what about the Harold & Review?

Page #1 news was the President's lying about not having said "shithole countries" when referring to African nations. What a dumbass we elected.

I think hypocritical, not ironic, was what you were searching for. Here is the "Hypocrite-In-Chief" outraged at Bill Clinton's behavior in 2016, but supportive of that same behavior in 1998.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski/trump-defended-clinton-during-lewinsky-scandal-against-moral?utm_term=.tfQMQL7Em#.ypoe2pjnx

Republican front-runner Donald Trump revived Bill Clinton's past marital indiscretions this week, attacking Hillary Clinton on Twitter and on TV for playing the "women's card" and saying her husband's past affairs would be fair game.

Trump took a different tact in the late '90s, when the scandal was at its peak, defending then-President Bill Clinton against the "moralists" and hypocrites in Congress and arguing that the scandal wouldn't have been that bad if only Clinton had chosen to carry on an affair with a supermodel instead.

"I got a chuckle out of all the moralists in Congress and in the media who expressed public outrage at the president's immoral behavior," wrote Trump in The America We Deserve . "I happen to know that one U.S. senator leading the pack of attackers spent more than a few nights with his twenty-something girlfriend at a hotel I own. There's also a conservative columnist, married, who was particularly rough on Clinton in this regard. He also brought his girlfriend to my resorts for the weekend. Their hypocrisy is amazing."

There are dozens of reasons to immigrate to the US other than “you live in a shithole”.

If you are a narrow minded racist that has never traveled to or even investigated the living conditions in other countries, that might be the only reason you can think of. Are you one of those?

But let’s say you do live in a shithole country....but you want a better lot in life, you want to start a business or invent a product or practice medicine or design skyscrapers, aren’t you just the type of person we want to have immigrate? See, it’s people who immigrate, not countries.

Option A: El Salvador isn’t a “shithole” so they don’t need 20 years of Temporary Protected Status, and the Salvadorans should be sent home immediately
Option B: El Salvador is, in fact, a “shithole.”

My ancestors came primarily from a couple shitholes. Germany and Scotland. That's why they came. Doesn't mean I or you are a piece of shit and I don't give a flying \"f\"ing if anyone calls them shitholes. If they were fantastic places for all my ancestors, they never would have left.

It is about people. I'm in the minority. I advocate for zero immigration until US unemployment is 3%, then targeted only. We're not trying to build a transcontinental railroad on the backs of semi-slave labor like it's 1864..... we don't NEED manual laborers to grow our economy. We need engineers, scientists and coders.. and guess what, those people are probably going to come from "dark" countries like India, China and Mexico. So what?

There's also a family practice physician shortage here. I say the next million immigrants should have an MD after their name. That would go a long way to solving the health care "crisis" in this country.

"Who will pick our produce?" the Left says... well, who picked the cotton after 1865?.... if the produce rots in the field, then the price goes up. People don't like $10 tomatoes due to a shortage, then the wages for picking the produce go up. At some point, the wages for AMERICANS will satisfy the demand for American labor to pick crops.

I don't understand how the Left advocates for $15 minimum wage, yet fights to keep illegal Mexicans picking crops for sub-minimum wage.... how inhumane.
