You won't see QND, West Hancock, or Macomb listed as independents but they might as well be as they're the only three teams left of the West Central conference

Whereas, Mount Carmel is listed, but they are in an Indiana conference.

You can add Judah Christian for next season too.

not much of a list. the reason i was thinking about it was because of the potential situation sterling has. while i think they would be a good fit for the new I8 conference along with long-time conference partners geneseo, rochelle, ottawa, etc, they haven't been invited, as far as i know.

i assume football is the reason sterling isn't wanted by at least some in the new I8. i could argue the cyclical nature of football at sterling and that nobody would have minded them being in that conference 5 short years ago, but i'll leave that alone.

what i'm wondering is if sterling said to the new I8 that they would be willing to join the conference in every sport except football (where they would be an independent), would that work for all parties?

the auto-bid to the playoffs for winning a conference title doesn't mean much to me. get 6 (or 5) wins and it doesn't matter.

That's what Sterling deserves for daring to have a good football team.

Sterling just thinks its all about them.

They can't be bothered to take into account the feelings of those other conference teams whose football teams weren't quite as good. Sterling just kicked asses in spite of how those other teams might have felt about getting their asses kicked. The selfish pricks.
