I don't understand Bulls fans infatuation with the Rose, Butler, Noah, Deng teams. I keep seeing all this stuff about how everyone wishes they still had that team, but that team never did anything more than this year's team did.

I mean, if you going to romanticize something why not pick a team that was actually good?

I think people think of the Rose MVP year as it was somewhat special, although the Heat still handled them fairly easily in the playoffs. I agree; other than that one year those teams were fun to watch but ultimately nothing spectacular.

I forgot they made the conference finals that year. That was pre Butler though.

Hope he sold it after they railroaded him.

Are the Cubs going the NFL route and just trying to come up with silly BS to keep their brand in the news?

Nope.

They are going to win a second World Series to keep their brand in the news.

That's what real baseball teams do.

I know two people who got rings and the caveat is that the Cubs have right of first refusal if they ever want to sell the ring.

Great. I'll get in line for one of the repurchased rings.

Do I have to marry into the Ameritrade family or anything?

So far so good.

The SOX series helped a lot.

Is that supposed to get to me? I'll readily admit the Sox are horse crap.

I think anyone outside the Cubs Fandom can see there's some issues. They're struggling pretty badly to lead a bad division.

Are you a SOX fan?

I don't think they are horse crap. They are LOADED with potentially great players. Potentially, they will be fantastic if the players they have meet their potential.

I know you are a huge fan of baseball potential.

Am I a Sox fan? Seriously?

The Sox are very similar to the Cubs 3-4 years ago. Whether that pans out remains to be seen. That is one decided difference between Cubs and Sox fans. Sox fans are a little more reserved about potential. There haven't been any fawning pieces about Moncada being the second coming of Jackie Robinson like the Schwarber as Babe Ruth idiocy.

I'm happy with the young talent the Cards have in their system - but too many redundant pieces.

The organization is still recovering from the loss of the best talent being groomed in Oscar Taveras. There was impact beyond loss of his services: they traded some arms for a rental of Heyward and have been plugging in pieces since.

Had the Cardinals not been forced into that position, quite literally, they could have packaged some of their redundant pieces from the outfield and pitching and may have landed a middle of the order bat to pair with OT's projected middle of the order bat.

Damn shame for that kid's family and the people counting on him.
