Before the education business, and before the steel industry, I was was an intern with the Illinois Conservation Police. That was what I wanted to do, and my prospects of being hired looked pretty bright.....until the budget offered no money for new hires. Then life takes you in another direction.

Conservation Police Officers - Who actually have more jurisdiction and power than a State Police Officer.

The Illinois law says that in order to be in possession of, meaning handle as well as own a firearm you must have an FOID card or be in direct control of an FOID card holder. ( in loco parentis and physical proximity of less than 10 feet or something silly like that.) This is why some gun shops ask you to see your FOID before they will let you lok at a gun.

I know this is what people always say, but they actually just have full police powers within the state. If it were the State Police mission, they could do they exact same things as a CPO. There are exceptions to search warrants and the circumstances that CPOs investigate often fall under them.

Chief Petty Officer's are a pain. But hey. At least they pay for drinks. I liked going out with my chief. Didn't really like him at work though.

GROD, and all his merry men have been crooked from the first day they took over. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I think Lisa's going to the Supreme Court is a stretch. We are stuck with this guy until he resigns (which would suprise me) or gets impeached, which will be tough since the Feds will not give up the evidence needed to give to the Senate for the impeachment trial.

In the mean time, the state is going to be slow with payments, school districts are going to go broke, and we are stuck with politicians that have their heads up their behinds, and dont care about the normal citizen like us.l

I might add, I DIDN'T Vote for the guy either time.
